Disclaimer = I'm obviously a Wolves fan. However, I have watched City play quite a bit over the last few years as I've borrowed my mates Cityzens card. I've actually seen City more than Wolves.

From a Wolves perspective it has certainly been flattering to read some of the comments on here. Particularly as some "lesser" teams (relative to City) have not given us credit for the way that we try to play proper attacking football. As much as our second string gave your second 11 a run for their money in the cup last year, I think the Prem is a different kettle of fish. This early in the season both teams have a point to prove. There's a lot to be said about the optics of sitting at the top of the table (if you're Man City) or being comfortably mid-league (for the Wolves) early on. I dont expect us to play a defensive game (thats not in the DNA of the team) I think there is still a natural predisposition for caution without the ball, particularly with the attacking talent of City. The issue Wolves has is that we will sit without the ball in a 5 - 4 - 1 that is heavily contingent on our attacking WB and wide midfielders to track back and defend correctly. With the array of talent that City has at its disposal there is certainly room to exploit some weaknesses in transition by deploying pace on the wing - I think Sane would be fantastic. Equally in both pre-season and in early prem games Wolves have been susceptible to a central killer through ball for a striker splitting defenders.

I reckon a couple for Aguero. City to win 3-1.

Nice honest appraisal and some perspective.

Welcome to the BM madhouse

For those driving down, parking can be a woman. The few private car parks charge around £8.00, but if you come down the A449 from J12, then there is a science park 15 mins walk from the ground. Plenty of free parking here but no good if you want a pint
(Very few pubs on this side of the ground and none are away friendly).

We respect Wolves, i never look at past games, especially in the league cup, so the wolves fans on here going on about that game are misguided it means nothing, all I know is Molinuex has a big wide pitch and that will suit City, have they got the legs to match the Champions, I don't think so, so on that basis im going for a City win, maybe comfortable maybe not.

Last year we started with...

Bravo, Danilo, Adarabioyo, Mangala, Zinchenko, Toure, Gundogan, Sterling, B.Silva, Jesus, Aguero

Good forward line and attack but the rest of the team was a bit uninspiring. It showed in the football be played and the fact we were left exposed at the back on a few occasions. Wolves had a few first teamers such as Costa, Coady, Bennet but they put out a weak side.
Tomorrow’s game will be different players and a different outcome.

I'd forgotten about that lot at the back, I have to say. There is no possible comparison between that and the line-up we'll send out tomorrow. We most definitely should win this, whether by the odd goal or more.

After last week’s line-up, I really haven’t a Scooby what side Pep will put out.

However, as Wolves are a more attacking team than Huddersfield, I think he will go for a more expansive side.

Ederson

Walker
Stones
Laporte
Mendy

Fernandinho

B. Silva
D. Silva

Sterling
Agüero
Sané.

Yep. Think he’ll go for pace out wide in this one.

Good to see the Wolves back up again; a proper football club with a loyal support. If we line up as last week, I can see them trying to exploit the space between Mendy and Laporte, so I think we'll use a different system and use the wingers (Sterling and Walker) to get around them. However, if both Walker and Mendy push up, then that can create more opportunities for Sterling and Sane to push infield. We've seen how two very different systems can be effective already this season, so the test now is to see how smoothly we can change from one system to an other during the game, should that need arise

I remember Wolves in the middle 50's - playing foreign teams like Honved and Spartak Moscow - on my gran's Black and White telly.
Later in the 70's went to watch City at Wolves - City lost 5-1 with Rodney Marsh scoring in the last minute.
Then 1974 - with our famous forward line of Summerbee . Bell , Lee , Law , and Marsh - lose 2-1 at Wembers.
Hopefully , we win 3-1 tomorrow.
