I keep reading this will be a difficult game. Can anyone explain fully why this is coz if people think Wolves will be, we're going to really struggle retaining the league are we not? Personally, I think it will be a comfortable win.

gen question btw

Because they are a good side who will be motivated

I would like to think any PL team is a good side and motivated at this very early stage of the season, but what makes them special that they could hurt us? After all, we are an exceptional side who are equally well motivated.

I understand there are banana skins out there, but what are people actually frightened of with Wolves?

Not frightened, more wary. I'm confident in our ability to beat any team but they play with high energy and they have a couple of classy players & were excellent against us last year.

I hope we romp home but I just have a feeling it'll be a tricky one

I have a strange feeling we will drop points why on earth why I do not know!

The team they will face this year is totally different gravy. It may be tricky ( I doubt it), but pound for pound we should not be in any way worried of them before kick off.

Last year we started with...

Bravo, Danilo, Adarabioyo, Mangala, Zinchenko, Toure, Gundogan, Sterling, B.Silva, Jesus, Aguero

Good forward line and attack but the rest of the team was a bit uninspiring. It showed in the football be played and the fact we were left exposed at the back on a few occasions. Wolves had a few first teamers such as Costa, Coady, Bennet but they put out a weak side.
Tomorrow’s game will be different players and a different outcome.

I think we go there in full confidence. Like how we look in midfield with the Gundogan and Fernandhino playing together they have started well. Not too sure how we go about this game. Feel that the speed kills Wolves in this game. So for myself.

Ederson
Walker , Laporte , Kompany . Mendy
Sterling , Gundogan , Fernandhino , D Silva , Sane
Aguero

Honestly feel that Kun could get another hat trick in this game. No matter what way we play.

Expecting one of their wonderkids to turn it on, high potential youngsters always enjoy having a go against us. Adama Traore might even force Kyle to get into his top gear.

My money is on Neves though, he'll be attempting to join the Mahrez/Mendy/Bernardo train of players being superb against us and then getting the chance to wear sky blue down the line.

Disclaimer = I'm obviously a Wolves fan. However, I have watched City play quite a bit over the last few years as I've borrowed my mates Cityzens card. I've actually seen City more than Wolves.

From a Wolves perspective it has certainly been flattering to read some of the comments on here. Particularly as some "lesser" teams (relative to City) have not given us credit for the way that we try to play proper attacking football. As much as our second string gave your second 11 a run for their money in the cup last year, I think the Prem is a different kettle of fish. This early in the season both teams have a point to prove. There's a lot to be said about the optics of sitting at the top of the table (if you're Man City) or being comfortably mid-league (for the Wolves) early on. I dont expect us to play a defensive game (thats not in the DNA of the team) I think there is still a natural predisposition for caution without the ball, particularly with the attacking talent of City. The issue Wolves has is that we will sit without the ball in a 5 - 4 - 1 that is heavily contingent on our attacking WB and wide midfielders to track back and defend correctly. With the array of talent that City has at its disposal there is certainly room to exploit some weaknesses in transition by deploying pace on the wing - I think Sane would be fantastic. Equally in both pre-season and in early prem games Wolves have been susceptible to a central killer through ball for a striker splitting defenders.

I reckon a couple for Aguero. City to win 3-1.
