The season is going to be stupid like that ... players sitting self-isolating for two weeks then not having trained with the team sitting out another game so potentially 2-3 games out ... no wait, we're going at almost two games per week schedule so potentially missing out 4-5 games each time anyone tests positive ... technically if they'd been training with others then those others should be self-isolating too ...

Shambles ... and that 3 subs v 5 subs looks even more stupid now ... Pep was not happy about that either and it's since come out that City was in favour of keeping 5 subs rule for this season at least ...
Of course we were in favour of it. It benefits the clubs with insane depth and disadvantages those without.

Tough decision really, because whilst it would help mitigate fatigue, it also creates an unfair advantage to the bigger teams.

This argument makes no sense. The whole point of the 5 subs rule was to combat the insane fixture congestion which will lead to more injuries unless managers can rotate more by using extra subs.

With only 3 subs, there will be more injuries. Clubs with greater squad depth can cope with those injuries far better. Clubs with small squads will be far more adversely affected by increased levels of injuries to players.

So with Garcia and Gundo out

Ederson
Walker Stones Ake Cancelo
KdB Rodri Bernardo
Mahrez Jesus Raheem

Wolves are a very generous 5/1 to beat City tonight with bet365. I'd never bet against City but that's higher than I expected. This will be a tough match.

Do we know are all the following fit?

Ederson, Steffen, Walker, Cancelo, Mendy, Stones, Otamendi, Ake, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Rodri, Bernardo, KDB, Foden, Mahrez, Sterling, Torres, Jesus.

Ant word on Bernardo? Did he train at all last week. Looks like lots of defenders on the bench but very few attacking options.

So many players out, not a great start to the season already. But not worth complaining about it, still got players we've spent a lot of money on and should still be winning the game. One of those where we have to get off to a good start, hopefully the issues we have brings the squad together and they get off to a good start ahead of the other players returning.

The zinchenko in midfield worshippers may get a surprise today with the way things are.

No it doesn’t. Everybody has the same squad limitations to adhere to. It’s a ridiculous excuse created and popularised by the likes of Jamie carragher who’s too small minded to see how it’s beneficial in numerous ways for all sides. There’s a reason the rest of Europe all voted in favour of it.

I’d put money on another revote around Christmas when the injuries and fatigue levels are through the roof and we wonder why the rest of Europe are coping much better and we get half a season with different rules which further devalues any integrity

Any body think that us having extra time off after our disappointing Champions league run is going to damage us.

We've had several players/staff get Covid, or have had to quarantine due to travelling places.

Pre-season has been extremely disrupted.
