Wolves (H) Post Match Thread

It definitely favours the defense. The natural position for an attacking player is to face the goal and lean in that direction. Its the opposite for a defender. So when the positions are compared if the players are more or less in line the attacker is going to be penalised. Its against the spirit of attacking football and completely daft.
That I agree with. My post that you quote was to someone suggesting the tech was bent (as lots of people don’t understand perspective).

Been done before....but...
Man City...might as well be Millport Amateurs! (Aug 1970)

I think collectively we gave the ball away far too much. Nip that in the bud, speed up the approach play and bang!! Good 3 points against a 'dogged' Wolves team - see what I did there? ;D

Wasnt his hand. Was his sleeve line.

That offside just looks....wrong. If you remove all the lines and just look at the photo, anyone who impartially sees that would say it's onside. From where Laporte is standing, for his upper arm to be deemed offside beyond the Wolves player's boot, he would have to be leaning forward to the point of overbalancing. And he didn't overbalance.

Really wanted to beat these. Another team that seem to take the most satisfaction from beating us than anything else they do.

Their manger would happily take relegation if offered in exchange for a last minute equaliser against us scored on the counter after us having a thousand shots against 10 men.

Couldn't bear the thought of looking at his glee if they beat us.

Job done. Good game.

That offside decision against LaPorte is a joke, however precisely it has been measured. Indeed measuring offside to that level of precision is the primary joke. In the first instance, decision making by officials needs to be based on something that is possible in real time with the naked eye so that VAR is truly dealing with clear and obvious errors. I'd still bin VAR.

What a strange game. That is about the most one-sided first half I can remember and the disallowed goal by Laporte would have given it a more realistic scoreline. Then they equalise and for about 10 mins they put together a couple of really decent chances...when they had the 5 against 3 I nearly crapped myself. Suddenly we realise who we are and moved through the gears, with some decent moves to create the goals. 4-1 was about right in the end as they showed little ambition apart from that 10 min spell.

Mahrez....excellent and playing with confidence, he looks a different player. Bar a couple of slips in the second half Rodri was good too and Walker, Bernardo and Jesus worked their socks off. It's good to know we can raise our game when it's needed, but putting games to bed earlier when we are dominating makes it a bit easier on the nerves. Never in doubt though, well played......onwards to Sunday.
