Wolves (H) - Post-Match Thread

I'd have settled for a 1-0 win before a ball was kicked. That was based on Wolves' recent defensive record and on the injury problems of our squad, but Wolves' display was an utter disgrace which found its most authentic expression in the conduct of Jimenez. The worst aspect of his dreadful behaviour was that it seemed to be some kind of leadership. Up until then Wolves had done a good job of out Crystal Palacing Crystal Palace; feign injury, moan at every decision, waste time at every opportunity and try an raise the level of frustration of City players and fans alike. Jimenez was continuing this policy until he got his marching orders for two perfectly justified yellows. And then his pathetic display of offended innocence as he would not go and his and then left at snail's pace throwing his head dress to the ground repeatedly. This was the example he seemed to think Wolves were following. If this was not "bringing the game into disrepute, what was?

That is the side of Wolves which must be dealt with. When it comes to football they are very well organised at the back and defend resolutely but they have nothing up front. I think they will get a lot of draws this season but I think they'll also draw a lot of games they would have won had they been more adventurous. And it will serve them right.

The other question is "was it a penalty?" and my answer is "I don't know and I don't care." It was given "by due process" and we saw 3 clearer penalties not given. Who has faith in VAR any more to get the decision right? That is our first PL penalty this season and we've seen other clubs get penalties apparently for nothing. We saw Brighton get one against us though VAR dismissed a clear offside at the start of the move which lead to the penalty. VAR specialises in creating controversy. So, we got a penalty today and scored from it. That's all there is to it.

I was glad when he came off, he got Rodri and Dias booked quite easily and was their source as a target man.He was holding up and turning and about to relay the ball, the only thing that stopped it from happening was the bombardment of tactical fouls from us.

You're right about the bookings

Wolves got what they deserved. Nowt.

What a shocker. Who is the Wolves manager Don Revie George Grahame or Big fat Sam. Whoever it is makes Jose look adventurous.;-)
