Wolves (H) - Post-Match Thread

A fucking hour to get off the car park, pissed wet through on the way to the car. Not long home and a brew inside me. Fair play to Raz, had the balls to step up. KDB really off the pace when he came on, wonder if he needs a two week sunshine break. Congratulations to Ederson, one hundredth clean sheet in the PL and stayed switched on to stop that late sucker punch.

Didnt like that game.

But 3 points on fortunate pen however we should have had others before?

Well done Sterling on a cool pen.

Moss is a joke of a ref.
Well he saved us today. No way VAR would have overturned an onfield decision not to give it. Very poor display which leaves a number of nagging doubts. But 3 points which are valuable and should be celebrated.

not sure its allowed, but if i was the ref i would of given that wanker another red card for his walk off, fucking tosspot player, fucking tosspot team.
It’s not only allowed, it’s exactly what the fkn oxygen thief Moss should have done. Refusal to leave the pitch after being sent off merits a second red. Wouldn’t have helped us any more, but just another example of PiGMOL officials making things up as they go along.

The worst team to visit the Etihad this season and that includes all league and Cup games. No ambition, just wanted to stick 9 men behind the ball. Their back 5 never passed the halfway line, the 3 in front of them barely got in our half. Even when they went 1 down they persisted with the negative tactics.
And don't get me started on their blatant cheating.
God help you if you have a Wolves season ticket.

Wolves got what they deserved.....absolutely fucking nothing. I'm not asking teams to come to the Etihad and be open and roll over, by all means defend well but at least have some ambition to want to try and win a game. That team was nothing short of a disgrace. And commentators saying how well Wolves played......utter, utter shite. They were the very definition of anti-football.

No idea how the handball in the first half is not a penalty - arm by his side but moved arm to ball. Stonewall. Tackle second half on Sterling where it went out for a goal kick was highly dubious too.....and we get given a pen for probably at best a wild assed guess by Moss. I fully expected it to be overturned and was very surprised when it wasn't.

The ref was ineptly bad (again) but well played to Sterling, Zinchenko, Eddie and Cancelo. In fact everyone pitched in to a degree. We weren't brilliant but I didn't think we played that bad, maybe a bit slow moving the ball sometimes, but generally our off-the-ball movement was ok.....but get used to dealing with blanket defences like this, there's more on the way over the next few months. A ground out 3 points in the end......well done.

Anyone see those knobs outside the Southstand with megaphones.? .. I think they may have been Q Anon types, and am told one had a placard proclaiming that kids were being kidnapped.…..Another placard kindly advised us that Sergio had had his booster but “looked what’s happened to him since”….

Had a set too with a gobby young Wolves fan at Piccadilly Met who got of the tram shouting “call yourselves champions you're crap”. Told him in no uncertain terms what I thought of their style of what is laughingly called football.

Bunch of loons they were, particularly the ringleader!

I was glad when he came off, he got Rodri and Dias booked quite easily and was their source as a target man.He was holding up and turning and about to relay the ball, the only thing that stopped it from happening was the bombardment of tactical fouls from us.
I watched him very closely. Every time the ball was played in his direction, he firstly checked where his marker was standing and then deliberately backed/barged into him as the ball arrived to knock him off balance. A clear foul according to the LotG, but no action taken at any time, unless a foul was given in his favour. Compare and contrast this to the frequent barges on City players, especially in the box, where nothing is given.
And they say we're refereed no differently to any other team.
