Wolves (H) - Post-Match Thread

Si. Very true El Jefe.
Without the soft yellow for a Traore dive 5 mins before, Fatso Moss wouldn’t have given the first yellow to Jimenez.
What followed was all on him. He tried to stop a quick free kick not once but twice
It was worth it to see him thrown his head bandage on the ground twice, applaud the away fans and shake the manager’s hand on his 15 minute walk off the pitch.

A Champions performance, we were poor today by our standards, poor by our standards is top 4 though.

Wolves were superb defensively and for some reason we always struggle against them, they work hard and Coady is a superb CB, Killman was brilliant today too and there 5-3-2 set up made it hard for us. There dickhead getting sent off helped us, what a fucking stupid **** he was. It was anti football by them, but it was effective. The thing is they got the same amount of points from the game that they would have got if they had gone all out attack.

We never panicked though and still tried to play our way, it wasnt as fluent as we have seen, but still dominated. Cancelo and Zincho were excellent, they had the space to try and create and kept trying. Zincho is becoming a real favourite of mine, he uses the ball so well, some of his passes inside today were fabulous. We know Cancelo can do it, Zincho is learning it.

Rodri was once again brilliant, he is now showing his passing range and its impressive. Raheem took the Pen with real class, he is coming into form at a crucial time and looks positive in blue once again.

Jack , like all the players Pep has signed is taking time to get to grips with how we play, yes he missed a sitter, but he was in the position to miss it, a position he rarely got in to at Villa, he is learning and i have no doubts about him at all, the lad has real quality.

Kev still looks rusty, Phil too, but with the games coming up they will be crucial

It will take a very special side to beat us to the title.

We weren’t at our best today and wolves appalling anti football made for one of the worst matches you’ll see City involved in this season

ffs wasting time when you’re 1-0 down with the plan to go all out to grab a goal in the last 5 mins.. Wankers !!!

shite like that doesn’t deserve a place in the PL and thank god we got the win football deserved to show deplorable tactics like that don’t get rewarded

Wolves have only themselves to blame.

I’m not one to say football HAS to be played in a certain way, but their defensive approach is just not successful in modern football in terms of developing a team or being successful, not a shocker they’ve had boring 0-0s with Norwich and Burnley recently. Both Villa and Palace actually played against us and one of them got a result, it is possible to play good football against good teams.

Now they are in 8th place while being 19th in goals scored. It is an approach to “survive” and has recently infected La Liga to be a boring league.

Great win against a collection of more than 12 diving cheats, bent whistling cunts; their scouse **** whinger the worse, as all the scouse cunts are use to be cunts. Even they've tried so hard, couldnae deny one too many a penalty.

Defo a penalty: Moutinho's arm raised, ball grazed his elbow, ribs and arm pit.

Nevermind how butt hurt the scouse **** media are, it means more when they are, sweeter feel.
Fuck off biaSPN, Bambino Pons utter mersa boludo.

Chuffed for centurions Raz and Eddie.

How on earth the first half handball was not locked at? And then the late block handball as well ? What is the freaking criteria for ‘ not so much in it’ in the VAR room?! 2 very obvious penalties not even checked. Does the club actually have any kind of proper post match feedback/clarification or complaint to PGMOL and FA for such cases? Something have to be done rather than club management just silently look at the floor and accept the frequent abuse!

3 points is 3 points but 24 shots, 10 corners and it’s taken a penalty for us to win shows where the issues are
We could start by stopping these infernal short corners. If we can't score from open play, then make the most of corners. We have some good heading players who might have put a few in the bag. One way to beat negative teams like Wolves ... set plays. It's not route one, our good play earns such as corners. Once Phil came on, actually took some proper corners.
