Wolves PL (A) | Post Match Discussion

The window didn't flop the we we wanted/needed, & today cruelly exposed City without Rodders & KDB.

Deep lying creativity, gone! Forward creativity, gone! Nunes is a CM who's not a Rodri, not a KDB. He's just another body in midfield like Kovacic, but Kova offers a little more.

We've gone from Silva & KDB to what? Only Rodri has replaced Fernandinho, & without him it's 2 games, two losses. THAT'S how important Rodri is to us & we all knew this.

At least Paqueta would have been closer to KDB, but no one else at the club comes close to Rodri. Without both & Bernardo, the difference is stark.

Felt for the 1st time in years we lacked identity, as poor as we have been in a long long while

Strangely We lacked a plan. Doku and Akanji were 6/10. God knows what the rest were. Made a mistake starting Nunez which I knew would fire the team/fans up. Don’t think we would have lost this if our key injured players hadn’t been out.

Arsenal game will be a hard watch without Rodri and with all the injuries. As far as this game goes we lacked creativity, but it probably wont matter come the end of the season.we move on.
especially with their awarded two-soft-pens-a-game average and a hater of a ref

The slow buildup to an ambling Haaland who looks like he's rooted to the spot half the time is worrying, he either really does need to adapt and start dropping a bit deeper to help out or we need to just go back to a false 9 and not play him for a bit (sounds fucking stupid) but it's like playing with 10 men. When he's static he's not even pulling defenders with him as he's not being a pain in the arse for them like he was last season, just waiting for a ball to go sailing past or over him.

Pawson shit as usual but collectively we look to have shit out pants with a riled up crowd, thought we were passed that!

We need to be a bit more savvy and cynical.

Their first goal just bring him down. Foden had a chance.

Yes we get a yellow card but it stops an attacking threat.

Dinho was a master at it.

'When you win a Treble, it isn't complacency'

Manchester City
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola speaking to Sky Sports after the loss against Wolves: "There are ten players and they transition well. We were well set up but we did not defend properly these situations. They beat us in the one v one and that is not good and we have to do it properly.
"We have to do more but even when we win we have to do more."
On Rodri's absence: "Rodri is an important player. We cannot count on him and you have to supply for another [player playing there]."
On Kovacic's performance: "It was fine. It was ok. Mateo is an exceptional player and it was the first time he played in that position. When we win and lose we do it together. Today we were not at our best."
Complacency? "You have to ask other people what they think about that [complacency].
"When you win four Carabao Cups in a row and the Premier League and a Treble it is not complacency. Sometimes the players can do better than you and beat you and that is what you can do today."
On being in the stands: "The view is better."
