Wolves PL (A) | Post Match Discussion

Something strange has happened City since going 2-0 against Forrest.
There is a weird frustration rife throughout the team since Rodri lost it and got sent off.
It’s bubbling under the surface of a lot of them.
We’ve looked way of it and distracted.

Hope they shake it off soon.

Three losses in a row without Rodri is on the cards but is not a good look.
Needs to be sorted, as we were playing great football up to now, even if we are not scoring enough.

It's so obvious when we're not on it...

The midweek game bled into this - all well and good saying we're better off out of that cup but the lethargy today stemmed from that imo.

Concerning thing today was some absolutely piss poor performances from players who are usually top notch and reliable - Ake absolutely rinsed all game, Dias shaky, Kovacic miles off it and absolutely anonymity from Haaland and Foden.

Big week ahead

can we not have palmer levels of hype for Bobb. he got pushed off the ball easily today and barely had any play of note.

today i blame whover decided to change things at half time. we were controlling it the whole first half, but after we removed one of our two midfielders the game became more even and we still failed to create chances. Nunes was doing absolutely fine not sure why you’d knock his confidence and remove and then replace him with a forward. insane

To be fair, the heartbeat of our side has always been our central midfield under Pep. You stop that and you stop City.

We can probably cope with losing 2 out of KDB, Rodri and Bernardo, but not losing all three. To miss those three players at the same time is just unfortunate.

That said, I find it staggering that Foden isn’t the first name in the middle of the park at the moment.
Foden's performance today shows why he does not play in CM, he was absent and needs to be the man in games like this, very poor today.

Some fans on here seem to have scouser syndrome, always the victim and its always someone else's fault (usually the refs) when we fail to win. We should be able to beat Wolves, one of the worst teams in the league, regardless of how good or bad a ref is. People can blame injuries all they want but I think thats a bit silly when not a single player on that Wolves team today would start for us. It was just a very bad game from us, and hopefully the players realise and accept this so they can learn from it and improve going forward instead of finding excuses like many of our fans on here. Every team lose games, and sometimes the ball just doesn't go in even if you create enough to get the goals. But today was not one of those days, we didn't create enough high quality chances and the performance was simply not good enough.
Meanwhile some people on here think we're a team of robots that can perform to a certain kennel every match and there's something badly wrong when they fail to get past a team that are not as good as they are, always assuming they're deliberately not trying it putting in a bad performance because they can't be bothered or whatever, with no consideration of mitigating factors like the fact that some of them have only been here 5 minutes, or that we've had to change things around from time to time.

I've never understood that despite the fact that matches in any sport never have and never can go to form 100% of the time because it's not an exact science, and players are human and therefore totally incapable of doing everything right 100% of the time, people still think that's bad and there's something wrong.

Very simple today, they got lucky twice out of the only 3 attempts they had, defended well notwithstanding the play acting, and as always against this type of team, were hard to break down and had the benefit of a weak ref. We had plenty of chances, played well enough to have scored more than they did but it didn't happen. That's how it goes, there was nothing there to suggest the sort of embarrasing garbage we see in here.

Add akanji to that. His prone stance for the second was school boy like

Worst performance ever from Foden today unfortunately. You can carry one player not being on it, but half the team were not at the races either today. It needed a change of formation at half time as we were second best in every department. Some sloppy passing from usual reliable players too. We can't have it our own way all the time and become entitled, credit to Wolves they deserved it but we were poor today. The defending for that second goal was awful. Draw a line under it and move on.
