Wolves post match

Commentators on five live said it was the most entertaining 0-0 they had ever seen but many blues saying it was a bore draw.

Some saying Zinchenko did well others saying he didn't do well, same with Tosin.

I don't know what to believe. If someone tells me Mangala shone then I'll be completely lost.
It was a terrible game by our standards this season. There was some goalmouth action - some tearaway Wolves attacks, but mostly very pedestrian sideways football around their penalty area.

I thought our defence was OK. Mangala and Adarabiyo made some good challenges. Mangala made one error in 1st half which could have led to a goal.

His showing tonight was the same as all other showings, including those in the youth side. As stated, he didn't stand out at youth level so I am surprised he's been promoted to the 1st team. You can't compare him with the likes of Stones and Sterling, they burst on to the scene at a young age and were being talked about across the country as players with great potential. Nobody is talking about Tosin in those terms. The fact is, we are challenging for titles and CLs, so any kid coming through has to be something really special to get enough game time with us to even have a shot at making it. Tosin won't get that game time. I'm not convinced Pep sees anything in him either, he just happens to be next in line when we are resting players, much like Mangala.

i dont watch youth level that much now, so i dont know how true that is. but so what if he didnt stand out at youth level or was the best player. plenty of players develop differently and some that are amazing at youth level end up nowhere. he must see something in him, he didnt have to play him tonight and we didnt have to offer him a contract.

As bad as he was, they all looked like fouls to me. However he shouldn't have put himself in the position of getting caught out, they were easy to deal with.

Just watched the highlights. The one in the second half was ridiculous, the forward just barging him over from behind and then running through on Bravo completely unpunished. The one at the end of the first half though was just pathetic defending. After watching Mangler preseason I thought he might surprise us all as a useful back up option (despite getting caught dwelling on the ball against West Ham in Iceland for a goal that should never have been ruled out), but Ronnie Reality kicked in again tonight. He’s a rabbit in the headlights, who dozes off way too often to ever make it at this level. Tosin’s no different either.
If we’re gonna win the league, then we’d better pray that Stones and Otamendi stay fit until the January transfer window opens

No a good advert for the league Cup. I hope Guardiola's comments after the last round have not got into the players heads. There were a few like jesus (unusually for him), Sterling and Toure who did not look interested.

You've got to be fucking shittin' me?

That was a great game of attack vs defence with some wolves breakaways. Combined with our back 4 that was proper entertaining.

Apparently the ball was too light according to the manager.
I didn't realise we used different balls. Seems, odd?

The Mitre Delta football used in the Football League and the Nike Ordam 3 used in the Premier League are both size 5 balls and both comply with FIFA rules so both must weigh between 14oz and 16oz (400 to 450 grams).
I can't find the specification of each but a max difference of 2 oz?
Sory Pep that's as bad an excuse as Moanninho normally comes out with.

It wasn't boring but it was a bit frustrating for us City fans. Too many players not at the races tonight and some downright poor - Aguero, Mangala, Toure & Gundogan for me.

Zinchenko certainly one of the better outfield players but that's not setting the bar very high. He used the wing well and always showed for the ball, unlike Danilo who reminded me of Sagna - defensively sound but offering nothing going forward. AZ's main problem was that he was indecisive when he had the ball. A few times he had it in good positions then took 2, 3 touches and lost the chance to cross.

The one really disappointing thing tonight for me was that we simply didn't use the space behind the Wolves full-backs. Normally that's our killer move but no one was making the runs tonight. Once or twice, when we did, we looked threatening but Aguero looked like a full-back playing as a striker.

Bravo excellent
Yaya too slow
Zinchenko did well - some nice touches
Tosin handled himself
Mangala struggled at times

Tough game against resilient opposition

To be fair, he's 8 foot tall and has been for a while, he's exactly the sort of player you'd expect to shine at youth level (and he did for a while). I think he did ok, but his confidence looks a little shaky and has done on the other occasions he's been up with the first team. A lot of his passes were behind people, which is generally a sign that you're a bit worried and are playing it safe instead of just playing naturally.

Needs a sink or swim loan where he gets a run of games to show whether he can get that confidence to play his natural game or not as I've seen him do all the different things well, just not put them together at the same time. Would like to see him attack he ball more aggressively though, he doesn't use his size as well as he might
