Wolves post match

You've got to be fucking shittin' me?

That was a great game of attack vs defence with some wolves breakaways. Combined with our back 4 that was proper entertaining.
Well I didn't enjoy it and was quite disappointed with our front 3. I thought Wolves would be decent and they were, but I can't recall their keeper making may saves

I really don't see how you can have been thrilled by tonight other than the result.

Then you must be one miserable mother fucker!!!

Lol

As bad as he was, they all looked like fouls to me. However he shouldn't have put himself in the position of getting caught out, they were easy to deal with.
The problem is he constantly gets caught in the twilight zone between sorting his feet out and getting his brain up to speed.

Wicked combination that.

It wasn't boring but it was a bit frustrating for us City fans. Too many players not at the races tonight and some downright poor - Aguero, Mangala, Toure & Gundogan for me.

Zinchenko certainly one of the better outfield players but that's not setting the bar very high. He used the wing well and always showed for the ball, unlike Danilo who reminded me of Sagna - defensively sound but offering nothing going forward. AZ's main problem was that he was indecisive when he had the ball. A few times he had it in good positions then took 2, 3 touches and lost the chance to cross.

The one really disappointing thing tonight for me was that we simply didn't use the space behind the Wolves full-backs. Normally that's our killer move but no one was making the runs tonight. Once or twice, when we did, we looked threatening but Aguero looked like a full-back playing as a striker.
I thought Aguero worked really hard but it wasn't his night, but Sterling and jesus were the players who should have had too much for Wolves defence. they did very little.

Interesting but I still think it goes down as a draw in the record books. I will be glad if I'm wrong. Seems some confusion. I was very certain but perhaps I'm wrong. I see Sam Lee just said it's a draw too.

Could even be subjective I suppose. If it was up to me a win is a win.

It goes in as a win on pens. Definitely
Did we win the league cup final v Liverpool or draw it?

Bravo excellent
Yaya too slow
Zinchenko did well - some nice touches
Tosin handled himself
Mangala struggled at times

Tough game against resilient opposition

Zinchenko did alright but he made a couple of really glaring errors, was way too narrow at one point and allowed Wolves to play an easy crossfield diagonal pass to get in behind, also didn't follow his man when he was last man and that allowed Wolves that late one v one which should have won them the game. Clearly not his natural position.

Mangala was shocking though, piss poor. Can't see who's going to take a punt on him when he plays like that when given a chance.

It's a shame we couldn't give the likes of Foden or Diaz some minutes tonight, not a great game but we got the result in the end.

Just got home. What the f#ck was that !
Our luck has clearly changed because Wolves should have won it.
IMHO worst performance by a City side since Pep arrived and why Pep failed to make the substitutions until so late in the game I will never know.
Not his finest hour as City's Manager from a tactical point of view.
MOTM by a mile was Bravo which really highlights how poor the whole team played. Need a major improvement v WBA.
Hope Wolves get automatic promotion because their fans were incredible.

worked for wolves until the pens

I'm not sure it did. Panicked too easily occasionally, giving the ball away -not even under pressure but- merely under the idea of being pressed at the back...

And by the way, by default their task was much much simpler than ours. 10 men behind ball throughout 120 minutes, ordered to protect 1/3 of the pitch. Against a line-up that had never operated as a unit before, naturally lacking team chemistry. While individually most of City players were clearly lacking match practice, others coming from injuries, with their confidence nowhere near the desired level etc. It was going to be a difficult match, and I'm happy we won. Why some people thought it would be a walk in the park, is totally beyond my understanding...
