Women's Team Thread - 2022/23

I just saw our Chloe has an advertisement with Calvin Klein. I'm genuinely pleased for her to be getting notoriety and economic opportunities on the back of her football fame. She appears to be a good person and nice young woman who has worked hard for her opportunities.

Another crass post on the City website from the awful Sam Cox. Highlights the “young guns” in the Womens Academy. Talks about Sandy MacIver whilst totally ignoring Khiara Keating and Grace Pilling. No mention of Katie Ramsden either. Ignores their dreadful record in league competition. Seem to have about 7 girls aged 17-18 who have represented England at age group. Test is how many come through to the first team.

@MAG

Will you be creating threads for the upcoming WC?

I'm looking forward to watching matches at stupid o clock.
England v Portugal this afternoon - that's afternoon British Summer Time. Think it's on a BBC channel. No doubt it will be a Ragfest for the commentator, even if they have none starting, but warming the bench!

No doubt GT will be singing their praises and informing us the sky is the limit, as he did with Hayley Raso, and they will be guaranteed at least a show on 85 mins against lower league opposition in one of the cups.

3 of the City Women start and 2 from the rags though 1 of the latter does have the captain's armband in the absence of a couple that would be ahead of her. Personally thought it should've gone to either Greenwood or Bronze being more senior that Earps.

England XI: Earps, Bronze, Walsh, Greenwood, James, Stanway, Daly, Toone, Hemp, Morgan, Carter.

Subs: Roebuck, Hampton, Charles, Wubben-Moy, Coombs, Kelly, England, Zelem, Robinson, Russo, Le Tissier.

Portugal XI: Pereira, Amado, Norton, Borges, J Silva, T Pinto, Dolores Silva, C Costa, Diana Silva, Gomes, Nazareth.

Subs: Morais, R Costa, Alves, Rebelo, Marchao, Jacinto, Rute, F Pinto, Seica, Mendes, Capeta, Encarnacao, Correia.

Oh, & it's on ITV1

I'm fucked off with it and we haven't kicked off yet. I've heard Voice of Football Dogmatism/Bullshite in Aluko, a presentation pre-match and a minutes silence. There's as much politickings in a footy friendly as yer getting at Westminster these days.

Not much quality on display in this England James, aside from Lauren James who is showing the odd touch.
