World Cup 2018 | 28th June | England vs Belgium Match Thread, KO 19:00 (BST)

Columbia, then Sweden or Switzerland in 1/4 finals, Spain or Croatia in the semis. The draw is opening up. England could lose any one of these games to this standard of opposition. It is also possible that they find themselves in the final. The game yesterday was dismal and hopefully should put to bed any further debate about what the best team is and all the Raheem/Rashford nonsense. Delphinio did himself proud yesterday and is definately an option from the bench. Bloody hell Dier made Henderson look good. Hope John is ok. He played well again yesterday.

It will probably echo most on here however had Sterling played as badly as Rashford did last night the world would have ended by now. Woeful to say the least
Don't know what you're on about, great vision, workrate, constantly making brilliant runs.

Well, I thought that was a fucking disgrace to the WC. Shameful putting two reserve teams out. And for what?

Bad show.

Indeed.

He is one of the few England players, to produce the identical performance for England, that he produces for his club.

Don't forget as well "Rashford scores that..."
Yep, showed his goalscoring ability to it's full potential last night.

I’m being Clarkied aren’t I? I take it that’s the media’s reaction to his performance? The only defence for it is he was in a massively changed 11. That still doesn’t mean his passing, finishing and general play should be shit though.

Slightly ironic if you’re laughing at making good runs being a positive though, bluemooners love that one for Sterling after a bad game. Hopefully that opens a few eyes that a shit performance is in fact just a shit performance which Rashfords last night was.

I'm laughing because he didn't make any yet every time he broke into a run it was a 'good run' even if Belgium were in possession. Miscontrolling a simple pass and handing it to a Belgian in space 10 yards away was great vision.

because both teams have qualified, it's important to utilize your squad with some much game time.

pretty much most teams that have qualified have rotated there team - France did it other day, used there reserve players, got a good run out.

nothing wrong with that - whole point of having a squad.

You ended up with the harder tie by trying to get 2nd place, couldn’t even get that right.

We will just have to agree to differ on how you went about it, or Belgium for that matter.

One thing it did show about the squad is you better hope the 1st choices don’t get injured. That’s the main thing I concluded.

Anyway, Columbia are tasty, whereas Japan look much more beatable. If you go out after this it’s a total fuck up. No question of that.
