Demichelis should have played from the start of the tournament, Argentina look miles better defensively with him included.

If Argentina get Kun back for the semi and Di Maria remains injured, I think they could win this thing. Demichelis and Garay look great together, Enzo and Biglia were actually willing to pass the ball quickly and not just to Messi and the other attackers actually got a chance to do something. They looked much more like a team, despite a poor performance from Messi and a leftback who was a non-entity going forwards

Belgium are just another example of why you need experience and you cannot win anything with kids. The experience will do them a lot of good though.

They lack balance and picking Fellani as a starter is asking for trouble.

All true, but that's not the reason so many of their players froze or underperformed. Even the decision to start hitting the ball long was too late. They should have show more urgency as well. Of course I don't think Wilmots is good enough and if you play Fellaini he is only good as a target man.

Excellent performance from all three City players on the world stage. Vinnie and Zabba are actually entitled to be called "world class".

I thought Zaba was class, Demichelis steady and Kompany quite poor.

Vinnie was just exposed a couple of times by shit players around him. I thought he was imperious on the ball.

Yeah, that does make a difference. I thought he lost the ball foolishly and in a dangerous area for the goal, he dropped to the floor to dive in too early for the Higuain chance that ht the bar, then got sucked in to the ball and left a huge gap for the Messi chance at the end.

I think because of how good I know he can be I'm being critical of him in a game he was alright in overall.

As you say, he didn't have Zaba and Demichelis beside him with Fernandinho in front. Makes a huge difference!

Thank f**k that ITV didn't have the PL when Aguero scored in 2012, they'd have gone straight to the adverts, really wanted to see the interaction between Vinny and the others. Why can't they wait 5 minutes for adverts, its not like anyone is particularly interested in them.

Also Cannavaro is such a football legend, he can sit there and speak Italian if he wants! Best CH since Baresi.

I was both pleased and disapointed that Hazard failed to deliver. Pleased because he plays for Chelsea and it should do his confidence no good to discover he's not as good as the hype surrounding him and disappointed for Belgium and Vinnie in particular.

Belgium are one's to watch in the France Euro's and the Russia World Cup.

With this World Cup being the first tournament as a group together they were always going to lack the experience needed to win games at this stage of the competition.

Argentina look more solid defensively with Demichelis but their strike force really isn't convincing me they will win the World Cup, against a top counter attacking team in Holland or a top all round team in Germany they could come up short.

I do hope Argentina win it from here though.
