Wrong. Some people want it to be better than it is. Because at the moment it's not good enough.
Its better than relying on three officials on the pitch.

So where was good old VAR then when Serbia should have had a clear pen ? For the odd correction it gets right ( still debatable e.g. I thought Neymar was fouled even though he did make a meal of it ) it makes three times as many mistakes for both penalties given and not given. It's a subjective based system that can never ever work !
Did you know?
The VAR officials are in full "John Terry" mode wearing full kit watching those screens.
VAR is better than not having VAR. For example how many dives have there been so far at this world cup?
But it is still not fully up to scratch. There needs to textual feedback like there is in Cricket.
e.g.
Offside: No/Yes+Whom
Attacking Handball Committed: No/Yes+Who.
Attacking Foul Committed: No/Yes+Who (on who).
Defending Handball Committed: No/Yes+Who.
Defending Foul Committed: No/Yes+Who (on who).
Quite. But the crowd and TV viewers need better information. It has evolved in Cricket to give the relevant information. Football needs to do the same. It’s never going to be up to scratch for the first few years. But football has to move on from relying on three pitchside officials.

So let's rely on three on the pitch, three in a control room in Milton Keynes and whoever else? Its better than relying on three officials on the pitch.

Erm, yes?
It's all over the bastard place, it appears to have no rules, it under/over mines the Ref, and it's wide open to manipulation.
I doubt anyone know's what's going on with it.
Most. It's the ones they didn't give, but should have, that are the issue.Has there been a VAR decision this tournament where the crowd didn’t know why ?
OK. So no VAR.
The Ref wouldn’t have given it anyway.
Yes, cos it really struggled in the previous 150 years. Just don't know how it coped. It’s never going to be up to scratch for the first few years. But football has to move on from relying on three pitchside officials.
So let's have a camera on every single player, hooked up to a ref. As you say, the more the better. I can't wait for that. The games will be brilliant.Haha, more help the refs can get the better the game will be.
