Does anyone remember that pub on Market Street, you went downstairs to it.

Only went in once and it was full of nutjobs. I was only 18ish so it may have been gone for near 30 years.
Was it called The Huntsman or the Sportsman or summat. Went in once, never went back!

Not having you's all calling the Tom Thumb either :D

A few more for you:

The Eager Poet - Giffard Park in MK - rough as arseholes

The Barleycorn - Didsbury - shit pub, not rough just shit

The Bricklayers Arms - Ordsall Lane - rough and shit.

Kicks - Piccadilly - rotten

What was that one near the Royal Exchange in the Arcade? Was it Gemstones or summat? Another shitter!
Do you mean the original Branagans, down the stairs in the basement? Ace place, used to be full of blues on Friday and Saturday nights. More ecstasy than beer was sold in their 88-91

Top pub Longsight , didnt someone put pictures up of the inside of the bar , and its still all intact cant remember if it was on here or elsewhere . Used to be a lot of Blues and Reds in there . Used to meet up there and the Old Shambles .

The pub next door ( to Rotters) what a little shithole , Athenaum used to a top bar , full of degenerates last time I was there a lot of dick waving salesmen talking over one another from a call centre nearby I could gather .

The new inn hattersley
The hustage hattersley
Broom house Denton
Toll point Denton
All great boozers

The Sportsmen was on Market St. Round about where Tescos is now. Spent a few Saturday afternoons getting blitzed in there, out of the football season. As someone said about Fridays, it's weird boozing in an underground pub all day, then coming out to broad daylight and thousands of normal folk.

The Huntsmans near Maine Road opposite The Clarence.
Yep, Sportsman. Think it was Bass house.

And yep to the original Branagans.

I've got head full of magic these days.

Not much left oh The Hill these days mate....strangely enough the Robin Hood still functions as some sort of pub/hostel....after that theres The Edge and,,,thats it!
The Emp was a great boozer, if a little rough to the uninitiated....

Got to be the Millstone?

I went to a live music night at somewhere called The John Willie Lees Cabaret Bar once. I think this is the same place.

Yeah, it became a cabaret bar towards the end of its existence. A few decent bands also played there. Before that it was just the usual old blokes, alcoholics and bus drivers who had finished their shift at the Arndale bus station.

There was a boozer over the road from the JWL...tHE SWAN WITH TWO NECKS...Vault always stank of drains....actually Manctheknife in his pre-Mrs MTK years pulled a fair few errr vintage ladies out of the John Willie Lees back in the day...

the sawyers arms on deansgate to watch city get beat by chelsea in 2006, full of scumbags (missing fingers, tattoos etc) far too many reds in there on the day also. left at half time. Mary D's has a rough feel to it... but this place took the biscuit. i like D's by the way!
