Worst pubs you have ever frequented...

I went in the Farmers Arms in Poynton one Monday afternoon. Poynton is nice. I was staying at our kids for a week. I bought a paper and thought i would have a couple of quiet pints and a read. Went in and sat at the bar. There was a handful of blokes at the bar and a gang of women in the corner.

Id been in about 2 minutes when all hell let loose and about a dozen women were scrapping like fuck. The blokes just watched on as they whacked fuck out of each other. They tables overturned, glass everywhere chairs all over the place. I still have not seen a pub brawl like it.

the sawyers arms on deansgate to watch city get beat by chelsea in 2006, full of scumbags (missing fingers, tattoos etc) far too many reds in there on the day also. left at half time. Mary D's has a rough feel to it... but this place took the biscuit. i like D's by the way!
That has always been a rag pub as long as I can remember

My brother worked in there donkeys years ago.

When women scrap it's way more brutal than when blokes fight.

Top...or bottom 5....depending on yer viewpoint...

The Big Alex.....Moss Side
The Empress...Cheetham Hill
The Robin Hood....Cheetham Hill
The Flat Iron....Salford precinct
The Staff of Life....Rainsough Brow, Prestwich....although not half as bad as it was painted...

Cheers!

Used to always be in 'The Empress', not so much the Robin hood, still see Jimmy who had the Emp now with their Pete.

Not much left oh The Hill these days mate....strangely enough the Robin Hood still functions as some sort of pub/hostel....after that theres The Edge and,,,thats it!
The Emp was a great boozer, if a little rough to the uninitiated....

Met the Mrs. in the edge in 1987, but apart from that and the Robin there's fuck all left, even the Halfway has gone, still frequented by the same characters i'd guess though...............

.........It's now a solicitors.

Ah yeah....twas a sad day indeed when the 'Halfwit' House went...for the coppers as well, they used o stroll in that place and nick people on a regular basis.
The Robin looks like a bail hostel with a license these days...so no change there. The dodgiest one back when was possibly the Crumpsall on the precinct corner......

I avoided it as much as possible but a few friends would frequent the place so was occasionally in there, proper shithole.

What was the bar called right opposite the post bowhere the bob went off, seen som lively encounters in there between blues and rags
There was a pub on the same side of the road as JWLs, was called the Rat and Carrot (or Parrot) at the time of the bombing. Proper shithole, only went in for happy hours, had no carpet just a crumbling concrete floor.

The pub on Corporation Street, where the bomb went off was in the guise of a faux Irish pub, The Rat and Parrot. It had a parrot in a cage near the bar. Before that it was Seftons.
Seftons that was it, wrecked one Saturday night massive brawl city and rags it was like the wild west then carried on in the old shambles
