Another "gem" is the Green End in Burnage.

Full of plastic rags that shithole

It forms the barrier between the barbarians of Burnage and the nobility of the Heatons.

When I played in the dars league back in the eighties, we visited some right old dives, including The Cheshire Cat Brinnington and The Wembley in Adswood and I played for the Nicholsons on Lancashire Hill.
I remember saying to a mate that I thought it'd kick off more often than I saw in there. The following Saturday someone was shot. These were the days before pub shootings were en vogue

The nicholsons was a dive, prob the worst I've been in. My mates dad used to run it and he'd always want to meet there before getting a taxi to town. Going for a swift one there wasn't having a quick drink, you'd be having a swift scrap before town.

The hope is a good shout from earlier, what a shyte hole.

In town I've always thought the Burton Arms was a bit weird. They know each other and get proper dressed up to go in there. Think it's a red pub too

What was the name of the pub round the back from the Nicholson's up Penny Lane? Been gone a while now but I had a few "experiences" in there.

A pub on the Falls Rd in Belfast - more like a shebeen with cans and two types of whiskey

That reminded me of the Spinners Arms in Hulme, quite a place in the 70/80's They had a parrot which they let fly round the pub, hence it was recalled to memory.
