Can I just remind the forum that some of these lads often have to get up at daft o clock in the morning to watch the game, they may have to drive for miles and miles to watch the game with other Blues and for many just a single, solitary visit to the Etihad will be out of bounds if not for logistical reasons then financial.

For me, every single one of our American posters is as cool as the 70,000 who went to York away.

Someone bang up the Orson Welles gif for me.

Its dead easy being a supporter here these days, in fact for the last 10 years or so. You should have tried it way before the internet was even a thought in Al Gores mushy head!!!!

I don't know if I would go as far to say as the last 10 years. Even with DirecTV it has been very difficult to watch many matches on television before 3-4 years ago. I know you could watch some online, but it really takes it being on the television to get into following a team.

Ah yes, I remember allowing you yo stand next to me in the kippax for many years, happy days.

Checking in from western Canada..... Last few years has gotten nice with the amount of games shown on cable tv, still rely on internet streams for cup matches etc. 445am kickoff was early today.

How many southerns would be offend by being called a Yank?

Quite a lot really. I grew up in Oklahoma and personally I don't like it much. However I realize on this board all of us fit the description. But I can tell you that most people that I deal with on a regular basis use the term Yankee as an insult.

"Yankee" is an not a term I would I would be called. My family has been in the American South, quite literally, since the founding of the Virginia colony. 2 ancestors died wearing a grey or homespun butternut uniform whilst defending their country at the time. A few more came home after the war.

That being said, I won't nitpick the term "yank" here. It doesn't mean the same to me. Brits can call me Yank all they want.
