Remember we've won our four league matches before Swansea, and 7 of our last 8.

Before the weekend, you (United from memory) had gained one more point than us over our last 10 matches. Does that sound like a capitulation to you?

It was a fairly typical over reaction to every poor performance and every poor result we've had this season.

Personally I'd rather the experts think we won't win the title, having everyone think it's ours to lose only makes me nervous. But if he does know his stuff, you'd think he might be able to do better than he did the other night (even if it was still criticism of our performance against Swansea).

Alan Hansen robs a living from the BBC licence payers.

His criticism of us merely masks the reality that he has not got an original idea in his golf club battered head.

Cliche piled upon cliche. Lazy comment followed by inane giggling.

I want someone who knows their stuff pontificating on MOTD. Someone who can read a game, not just churn out the meaningless... "Err, that back four should all be in a line" meaningless drivel.

He's 20 years out of date. And I'm not just talking about his shirts.

Wow. Hansen speaks his mind, doesn't he? And what a cutting edge mind it is at that.

It isn't so much what he says as how he says it. His undisguised joy at City's dip in form is a masterclass in lack of objectivity. Safe within his surroundings of the MOTD studio, he is able to spout whatever excess verbiage he likes. You would have thought that his "you don't win anything with kids" gaff would have taught him sufficiently to temper his comments with rational appraisal. He is a tabloid of a football pundit. Daily Star at best.

Yes, City need to focus, intensify, and deliver. Yes, United are looking pretty unremitting now. But, every time we have had a dip we have returned with a remarkable run of form.

Chelsea on Wednesday is the biggest game of the season thus far. Followed by Stoke on Saturday, followed by Sunderland the next week, followed by.... etc etc

If City take less than 3 points from Chelsea it is not the end of the world. It just makes it likely that the derby on the 30th will not be a pivotal match.

However, 30 points still to play for. Chelsea's concession of 2 goals to Leicester at the weekend suggests to me that they are still fragile at the back. Imagine if Mancini unleashed Balotelli, Dzeko, and Augero on them from the start (as he did for the final 20 mins against Sporting)?

Plenty of plot twists, yet.

Yep, new blood required urgently on motd

Preferably pundits who actually played football (or officiated) in ''the Premier League era'' that they constantly bang on about

For anyone that wants another good laugh at Hansen....

I really believe Stewart Downing has it in him to be a world-beater. In the early stages on Wednesday he had Micah Richards backing off and backing of. Let me tell you there are only so many players who can do that to him.

With the ability he has he should be a world-beater but he is not. This has to come from somewhere, but there is a real talent in there and it is obvious Dalglish has great belief in him.

Stewart Downing a potential 'world beater' :D
