WSL Brighton (H).12/11/23:

Taylor really showing his credentials today although the players certainly didn't help him with that performance. Called the strange selection just after kick-off but then he compounded it with those subs. Taking off our one main aerial threat when replacing Shaw with Park whos main asset of pace is negated by a deep-lying packed defence. Then replaces a left back (who wasn't actually a left-back in the first place) and replaces her with a right-back while leaving the other left-back on the bench. Absolutely clueless.

Toothless up front, poor decision making in the final third. What on earth was going on at the end there? Taking an age to take the corner and continuing to pass the ball back? Frustrating afternoon. Aside from Kelly's cross bar hit we really didn't look like scoring.

I can't understand why he won't move Hasegawa up the pitch!

I don't understand why Kelly is an automatic starter.

And I don't understand why, if Mace isn't playing in defence, why she isn't positioned in DM where she can pick out a pass and cover the back line. Is she not a youth level England capt?

Can't believe how fucked off I am!

Exactly - Taylor for all his typical sound bites and media savvy training is simply a very poor coach and he alienates some players quickly which is why so many left in such a short time. Yes it's only a couple of results but when you look at the format of the WSL - lose 2/3 games and you are out of contention. As for Kelly she is one of the most frustrating to watch and I imagine to play alongside. - she must have had ten shots today and about four when a simple quick pass was on for a tap in.
