Having just ordered a Blue Membership and paid for the "priority booking" option I contacted the club about what will happen with regard to Live 4 City membership. I received the response that the Live 4 City sceme has now been scrapped and the cards should be cut up. If I want my children to attend games with me they too will have to join the Blue Membership for £25 each.

Anyone heard anything different about junior membership or has it all been scrapped now?

Totally different information to what I was given. I emailed the club and was told that they are looking at new membership options but in the meantime my sons Live4City membership would still be valid until the new scheme is announced and would therefore still qualify him to apply for match tickets.
I emailed the club about this too. This is what they said on 25 June:

To confirm for the upcoming season all Live4City/Accesscards will no longer be active. They are being taken over by a new membership product which will be available to supporters around the middle of July. I must advise you that it will be a cost for this new membership, at this moment I am unsure of the amount it will be. All information will be on the website in the new few weeks.
That isn't totally clear, but it does seem to imply that the new Blue membership replaces Citycards, Accesscards AND Live4City.

Am I right in thinking this blue membership is the same as last season's access card and it's a fee per season, not a one of fee?

£10 for lifetime membership?

It'll be interesting when Champions League matches don't sell and Mr Tourist + 3 Friends fancy going. £40 up front before they even get to buy seats?

It's only a membership by name, in reality it's an access card, so thought maybe it was just a one off fee to get the card.

Can't see them not having paper tickets, I'm just going to go for those and use mates season tickets when they can't go. Doesn't matter if I don't rack up any loyalty points as I've already accepted I won't be getting tickets for the big games.

Not happy. Just got off the phone to City and the kids have to join as well to get tickets.

They are 7 and 11 so are not allowed to enter the ground on their own according to City so have to be accompanied by an adult but they still have to have the priority added to get tickets when myself and girlfriend do.

So that'd be £100 with priority or £40 as access for a family of 4 just to get tickets from the club, so basically thats one games worth of tickets wasted on the membership and privilege of giving City your money.

Live4city was free for the kids and they did not need priority as they'd be going with an adult that had it. This needs to be sorted out as not going to attract familys.

I argued that I would take a £95 season ticket for them but as they are too young then thats not an option as I would have to buy a season ticket to.

I can't see how this is attracting familys to the games at all...

Dare I mention being geared for prawn sandwich brigade. Next they'll be paying adult prices !

I phoned this afternoon for clarification on this. I was told I could get the 13-year-old lad I take to City Blue membership, or wait for the junior membership. The girl I spoke to was clear that there was going to be a junior membership scheme although she didn't know how much it would be or when it would be announced.

Why are people being told different stories when they phone up? Daventryblue has clearly been told something completely different to me. That's just not acceptable - either there is a junior scheme or there isn't, it's not complicated. There is no explanation at all on the website as to what is intended to replace Live4City - either it's Blue membership and you have to pay the adult price for kids - which virtually no commercial operation does - or there's a junior version they've not bothered to tell us about .

Whatever City are intending here, they are making a lousy job of communicating it. This really has been handled very badly.

I have received an email from the club and they advise a junior scheme is coming into place LATER THIS YEAR !! what is the point of this ? They have no date though just LATER THIS YEAR.

Surely this should have been sorted before the season and therefore all membership at the same time?

I have signed the kids up for Blue Membership (cos I feel I have to) and to add insult to injury the confirmation says "Under 16's membership" ... Whats the point in putting that as its still the same price as an adult anyway. Not many places that kids pay the same as adults ??

I feel City have really cocked up this time. A club doing so well off the pitch is incapable of running it off it. They need to have a long look at themselves and how they want to be perceived by THEIR fans.

£100 for my family to be able to get priority tickets. Thats what it usually costs me to take them a game after travel, tickets and a programme. More overtime required....

Wish I could boycott or tell the top stuff it but all I can do is moan and still go so suppose the club wins in the end ?

Why are people surprised or thinking that this is some sort of unintended error in communication?

Garry Cook wants every single last penny possible out of you. If delaying announcement of a junior scheme encourages you to spend a wedge on these tickets for nothing then he is perfectly happy.

His job and League leading wage depends on being able to say "Look, look how much more money I've managed to squeeze out of the fans".

Console yourself that there is a strong possibility that some of the money he squeezes you for will be offset by him buying you a pint and telling you some comedic yarn about "having to do because of FFP, but I love you all so much."

Well when on the phone I did tell the lad on the other end that I preferred it when City were crap and things were easy and he spun a yarn about finances and how demand is higher for tickets, etc as though reading from a sheet.

ummmmmmmmmmmmm

Can see the (already far from full) Family Stand being even emptier this season if this farce continues

Can you no longer just go up to the ticket office on matchdays, buy a ticket and then go and watch the game?

Too be honest I doubt the club know what they are doing so doubt anyone on here does !

Shambles.

I suppose I am wishing for too much for some more £40 for a family of 4 in the family stand tickets... There best be some good offers on to justify a lack of discount for kids membership. But I doubt it.

If we were selling out the COMS .. Sorry Etihad Stadium (yes big sponsorship with lots of money for the COMMUNITY projects) then I could understand it but I doubt we'll even sell out Swansea with the farce on ticket sales.

Its like going on a flight with Ryan Air ... Yeah ticket is £30 but after addons it could be anything upto £55... Oh if you want to wear less than 2 items of MCFC merchandise then its a £10 charge and also £2.50 if you haven't bought a programme.

SORT IT OUT CITY.
