Yann M`Vila

It might be that City are beginning to put a lid on player wages. If De Jong asks for too much it might be the case that it's better economically to invest in younger stars with lower wage demands. There will be fewer Yaya and Tewez wages in the future, I think. It's better to use the owner power in the transfer market (towards other clubs).

Don't really get the hype with this kid. He doesn't strike me as special. He is a poor passer of the ball (technique wise, his balls often go astray), he is a jittery player (which is fine, but a pet peeve of mine.) Isn't particularly fast, and he is no better a tackler than De Jong. Perhaps he would surprise me, but for the love of God, where are the Essien comparisons coming from :?

I'd rather us develop Razak and Abu over M'Vila. As far the question, Javi Martinez is a far better player at what wed ask of a deep lying midfielder.

I agree. For that price, i'd rather the club go for someone who offers more flexibility position wise like javi martinez.

Thats why I prefer him too.
Martinez can defend, keep the possession and attack IF required.

Agree with above. Martinez can play box-to-box or holding midfield. Even centre-back if needed. Versatile just like Yaya.

Not sure if Yann is as versatile, haven't seen him enough. Hope we get Martinez. :D

Yep, Martinez would be perfect for us

Picked up a neck injury for France v belgium this evening.

Highly rated by my French footy fan mates

Decent young player, hope we atleast send some scouts out to watch him, if we havent already.

very good young player, but there are plenty of players like him in the French league. The likes of Capoue and Matudi is as good as he is.

He is better than both and younger

What is he better them at? I would say he’s only more hyped. I watch a lot of French football and Im amazed how much people rate him in England. Don’t get me wrong he’s a good young player who can become very very good in the future. But he has benefited from a new manager in the French national team who is trying to breed in the youngsters. I would say current M’Villa is not better than Lass Diarra, Essien or Diaby when they were at his age. And even now Lass Diarra should be ahead of him, and the only reason he isnt is he’s a trouble maker and they don’t want him in the national team.

I would say he’s like Rodwell, a good young player with very bright future, but currently overrated. Can become great in the future if he develops

M'vila or Javi Martinez?
The only person in the world that cares about what Sabster thinks

He makes reasoned arguments. Can't say that for everyone on the forum.
Hear Hear! Even when I disagree with the man, he still makes a colorable argument. And as much as BMers hate him for not thinking De Jong is great, the guy knows his football.

-- Wed Nov 16, 2011 10:37 pm --

Now, this is what I see when I watch.

Diarra and Diaby or shite! Diarra looked good in an average team at Portsmouth but not so good at RM. Diaby is just shocking all together. M'Vila is definitely a top talent but I wouldn't have him. As I wouldn't have anyone now (apart from a CB) unless people are going out.

If Lassana Diarra is sh!t defensive midfielder, then I really dont know what you think M'Villa does better, cause this clearly shows you seen few M'Villa videos and seen other rave about him.

Also Diaby is very injury prone, but he was a starter for france in the world cup, while M'Villa got cut from the 30 man squad after training with the squad. Diaby under Blanc has also been a starter and Blanc talked about how much he rates him after the Belgium and how much the team has missed him. Despite being injured since May, Blanc said he's definitely going to the Euros

I never said M'Vila was excellent at this point in time. But jesus, they are not any better at all. M'Vila is 21 so has time to develop. You seem to be having a wankfest over Diarra here, oh and Van Persie, so I'll leave you to that.

Also, Diaby was picked in France's World Cup team? Oh, that team that failed miserably. France in the last World Cup seemed to go more with experience and it turned out shit. Diaby was one of the worst players of that squad as well. The fact he is injured did not come into context when he could hardly get into Arsenal's starting eleven either.
