Yaya - a time to cash in?

Madness. One of the best players on the planet, won us the fa cup and without him we never would have won the league. Remember Newcastle away? Come on

Give him another season, almost all our players have performed way below par. I just dont get why he had to start every single possible game, only to get completely knackered looking like he wanted a chair out there. I dont know how much was being tired and how much was being lazy, but I would hate missing the chance to see how Pellegrini would handle him.

Now that we have have Fernandinho, we have someone to not only ease the pressure off Yaya, but to fill in for him, giving him some rest.

Mancini ran him down like a dog.

The most important change which I am looking forward to seeing at City this season will be the change of tactics and formation to a more attacking 4 3 3 line-up;

RM was overly cautious and played with a very crowded mid-field, which dominated the possession numbers without producing matching numbers of shots on goal. Hopefully that will change with 4 3 3.

RM signed Nasri as a back-up to Silva, but then played them together and over-played Silva even when he was injured. That should stop now with better rotation and more options.

RM played Yaya week-in and week-out no matter how poorly he performed, making everything go through him, which slowed down many promising plays. Hopefully that will change with 4 3 3 as Yaya will have to get fit (drop 20 pounds and stop lollygagging around) and demonstrate that he is a genuine box-to-box midfielder as advertised by Barca. Somehow I doubt it, but maybe he will surprise us all. Or maybe he will be part of a rotation now with Navas and Fernandino added to the midfield ranks, and based on performance not on name alone.

I also look forward to a better blend of star players and promising younger players. I believe this will be the most noticeable improvement leading to better results and more consistency in our form.

Some good points, let's hope you are right.

for def give him another season, he has his ups and downs, but when he can be bothered hes a world beater, saying that when hes down, he cant half be a lazy sod, has to be worth another shot to see if Pellegrini can inspire him to have a lot more ups than downs

Sell a bloke who has just signed a contract that will see him stay with us until he retires? A bloke who is, on his day, untouchable?

Do you remember the 80's?
Was it acceptable then?
