Yaya - a time to cash in?

no way i'd entertain selling him, last season the problem was like silva we were over reliant on him, he had to play more or less every game, now we have fernandinho, and hopefully with Rodwell fit we can rest him when we need too.

It seems I opened a question some are afraid to discuss, I gave him credit and has been a monster for us, but to say I know nothing about football because I see a problem with his defensive side of his game is nonsense, fernandinho/yaya partnership wouldn't work as they have the same style of play, if you think he's been brought in to play defensive your wrong he's much more than that. Without a defensive midfielder winning the ball and mopping up attacks it will end up disastrous with all the attacking talent. There would be no balance in the side. Barry did this for yaya but don't expect fernandinho to play like Barry. The idea by my post was we need a Barry/busquets/gundogan more than we need a yaya. One his day he's unplayable but he's not the defensive player we need so where do you play him and who misses out?
You are entitled to your opinion, of course you are, but it seems many don't agree . Anyway I trust Manuel Pellegrini to decide how to play Yaya.

I have considered it for a while actually. I think we need to see how he gets on under the new manager. Last season wasn't good enough in my opinion.

At this stage Rodwell and Fernandinho are unproven and therefore only potential replacements.

Yaya's market value isn't astronomical and we are not skint.

He's about to play under a new manager.

He does us proud on the big occasions.

For all four reasons we should keep him at least another season.

YaYa owes us big time after his complete lack of motivation last season. The fact that his game was so poor and he's been allowed to get away with it because he may have fell out with Mancini is, to be blunt a fucking joke, though in fairness he isn't the only one who owes us.
The way I see it this coming year with Toure is pretty much win win - he continues in the same vain then we sell him next year, we'll still get a hefty fee and Pelli would have had a year to work out what/who he needs to bring in. On the other hand he goes back to the player we know he can be and we have the best midfielder in the league and we will win more silverware. There really is nobody better at doing what he does, his passing and movement and his ability to go on unstoppable bursts are a sight to behold, I just hope we get to see more of it this season.

I'd only sell if there was a guarantee of Gundogan or Vidal coming in as the replacement. Both would work brilliantly in the 2 man midfield with Fernandinho.

We have no shot at Gundogan. Why would Dortmond sell him? They lost Kagawa last year, Gotze this year and Lewendowski is on the way this year or next. If they lose anyone else they will be fighting relegation instead of CL and League title they are aiming for.

Done deal - sorry to tell you he's gone to the Dips. You did mean Kolo, didn't you?

I mean - anything else would be preposterous!

Same could be said for the majority last season , still wouldn't sell though..
