Why is this tournament played at this time of year?

The vast majority of the players are employed by European club sides so UEFA should protest most vigorously, oh sorry forgot that little weasel Prattini was in charge.

Can get a tad hot in Africa during our off-season. Unless you're suggesting it should be played in South Africa every time.

Am I wrong in thinking Africa is in the southern hemisphere therefore its summer now?

the tournament will be played in the northern hemisphere and just around the equator

can't speak for him but maybe he was saying hopefully he steps up some time this month with Yaya out.

considering how highly rated he's supposed to be, if he doesn't kick a ball in a game in the next 5-6 weeks and we don't sign a midfielder, we'll never see a young player come through the ranks with Mancini at the helm.

I've only seen him twice but he looked a nice enough footballer but woefully short of pace.

If he's going to break through now's not the time. Tamworth would do nicely, or sub when 3-0 up to someone.

Plus what a lot of people haven't cottoned onto is this.

The ACON is played every two years and is currently in even years (ie 2010, 2012 etc).

It has been decided that in order that it isn't played in the same year as Euros, Worlds etc then it should move to odd years beginning..............in 2013.

So we lose them next Jan as well!!!

Why?

That is a far stronger team than what Utd have available Johnson and NDJ deserve a start Milner is more than capable of filling in for Barry and its a perfect match for Nasri to shine.

It will make a victory even more sweeter for me...

How so? thats just as strong as any 11 the rags could turn out. and why wouldnt johnson be starting?
