Yaya Toure apologises for accusing Guardiola of ‘having problems with Africans’

I will always have a soft spot for Yaya, he was incredible for us. The brace against Newcastle, the goals against United and Stoke in the FA cup, and so many more. Phenomenal player.

But, there are just some things I'm not sure you can take back. Unfortunately, I think (falsely) accusing someone of racism in a very public, permanent way is one of them. I read the article and it does seem like Yaya genuinely regrets it. I just don't think it's a wrong you can right.

He just has to stop. My favourite City player ever but unlike our other brilliant players , he seems to lack self awareness.

When I read it, I don't feel that's an apology:

1) "That interview was my big, huge mistake,' Toure rues. 'When you give your trust, your voice to someone, they can twist it"
--> Is he saying it actually was not him who say those words, it was not really him who accused Pep? So what kind of mistake he's talking about, the mistake that letting other people twist his words or the mistake that he indeed said the wrong thing? And he actually said wrong things many times, not just one; so what exactly he's talking about?

2) "'I was aware some staff were not happy. I emailed a letter to try to communicate with some important people there to apologise and say I've been indecent to the club but I haven't had any feedback"
--> Who was not happy? He attacked Pep personally, accused Pep of something untruth, and then he said "some staff", "some people". No man, that's not the way you sincerely say sorry.
And the way he said, it sounds like he's blaming the club (or Pep implicitly) for not responding to his email. It's more about blaming than apologizing.

3) "I want peace. We don't want this (acrimony) all the time. For the love of the fans, for the love of the club, sometimes things have to be settled the right way. I've been in touch with some people there."
--> Because in the 1st paragraph, he didn't really clearly mentioned what did he actually apologized for, so I'm not sure whether he really aware of his mistake or not. It makes this paragraph sounds like he just wants peace for himself rather than trying to fix the problem he caused.

So in conclusion, I don't see his sincerity in what he said. And I'm not sure how this is public because when we really want to apology someone, we usually don't go to the public and say other people have not replied to us yet.

Anyway, maybe I'm reading between the lines too much and he indeed wants to apologize, sincerely. But he should know that the whole club is so busy with hectic fixtures on 4 fronts, and if it takes him a few years to really say those apology words, he should expect to wait at least some more years to have a response.
And to be frank, it's not the duty of the club or Pep to reply to his email.

Let’s face it, we all know he’s thick as fuck but on the pitch the bloke was sublime. He gained Leg End status in the FA Cup early on and went even further as his City career evolved. David, Zabba, Vincent, Aguero, he was part of the motley crew, and anything other than being revered in that team would just not feel right.

He gobbed off, he’s put it right. Nothing more should be mentioned.

There have been true legends like Neil Young who in the end was treated poorly by the club who never gave him his much deserved testimonial. He never earned millions and never said a bad word against our club. Meanwhile, Yaya earned millions, was treated extremely well and has the nerve to bad mouth our manager in public. A great player but a complete tosser in my opinion.

He played well, but he made it wrong. Nothing more should be mentioned.

P/S: Actually nobody mentioned him first. It was him who mentioned the club and Pep first, in bad ways, many times.
