Yaya Toure apologises for accusing Guardiola of ‘having problems with Africans’

It’s not at all.

He was the best player in the league and most influential performer in our team in the entire title winning seasons of 2011-12 and 2013-14. He turned up when needed for all of our biggest moments from West Ham away in October 2010 right through to the end of the 2014 season.

I quoted one game because that was the best, but you must have some warped sort of mind to forget all the rest he did.

And who gives a shit that he wouldn’t fit into today’s team? He’s not on our potential transfer list for this Summer!

Billy Meredith won one trophy for City and then took part in being a total weasel and getting himself banned for being a dodgy **** and a load of other City players banned by grassing them up thinking he’d get a lesser punishment, and then went to United with the others and won two league titles and an FA Cup while we didn’t recover for about twenty years... but Billy Meredith is still spoken of now as a legend!

Yaya Touré did more for this football club than Meredith did and less to bring disgrace to the club.
Great post. Plenty of wonderful players only have one or two great seasons for clubs.
Ps I never knew that about Meredith.

One of our all time greatest players. No question about that. But he belatedly admits using the very serious accusation of racism as a weapon. Groundless and pathetic but he knew the damage it could cause.
Sorry Yaya but you can fuck off.

Now just need an apology for accusing the club of denying him time off to visit his dying brother. (while he actually visited a different country)
And to the fans for ruining the end of every winning season by slagging the club off for one reason or other just to get a better contract.

Jog on mate...

Btw anyone who has worked in certain industries knows his ‘righteous Muslim’ schtick is absolute bollocks, the most hypocritical uber shagger at the club since Andy Dibble

All just feels a little opportunistic for me, there’s more than a whiff of trying to create a story out of nothing, a bit like the Phil social media shite, I’m sure there’ll be more in the coming weeks as we March on to glory.....as for Yaya, great player and gave us some fine moments, id prefer to remember those with my blue tinted glasses on

“I want to apologise for what happened, I want to apologise for doing something wrong,” Toure has said.

“When something happens that is wrong and you make a mistake, or people use your name and use you to do some wrong stuff, you have to make it OK,” Toure says. “This one was wrong. I want to apologise for what happened, I want to apologise for doing something wrong.

“We decided we would try to communicate with some important people at the club to apologise and say I’ve been indecent to the club.
Doesn’t once mention Pep by name. Insincere and so not an apology befitting of a real man

Opportunistic is the exact word. He’s trying to reinvent himself as a coach but has belatedly discovered how beloved and revered Pep is in that world, and also how influential City are globally as well. He isn’t honest or sincere in his apologies, as usual it is all about Yaya and how he can stay close to the big money with the least amount of work

Can we not just build him a statue of a cake? ;)

Unbelievable player for City. Yaya dragged us over the line more times than I can remember. He is also unfortunately a bit of a mard arse it seems. He let his agent and mouth get him into an awkward position. Yaya was obviously upset at how he left the club and blamed pep to a certain extent. The decision was not personal IMO but hard for his ego to understand. Yaya probably still harboured resentment from his Barca exit and now Pep was coming to ‘his club’ and eventually the same outcome was taken.

If Pep forgives then I see no issue. Absolute wrecking ball for us. I will never forget the fa cup goal, the united game, the Newcastle goal and the villa run amongst other great moments.
