There is something cynical about coming out to say you sent a letter of apology and never got a response. He’s still attacking Pep

That's my reading of it as well. It's just attention-seeking on the eve of the most important period of City's history. I don't believe a word he says. Where is the email and who did he send it to? Ya Ya was a fantastic player for City but also seems to be a total piece of work.

That doesn't alter the fact that he made the statement in the first place. Fantastic player, undoubtedly. For 4 or 5 years, he was a beast. But as a man; sorry, but no. Great player who was very important for our early success.We,as a club and fans recognised that.
That wasn't enough for Yaya,he wanted more.Trouble is,whatever we did he'd want more.

I for one will always love Yaya. His agent was scum of the earth and lead him in the wrong direction. But we he did for our club was priceless. I think we should pay him some.
