Yaya Toure apologises

Yaya to me had one main fault. Despite his obvious ability and the part in our growth from nothing to this the overriding accessment of his time here was that he was doing us a favour joining us. True it was a coop at the time to get him but he has been paid handsomely for his services. It's a two way thing. His demenor though was just plain lazy, unless he wanted to do it. He had a marvellous end to our second title season but instead of basking in the glory with his teammates and manager he tried desperately to cash in and go it alone. I think there lies his problem,it was all about him,him ,his **** of an agent and their total greed. You have to wonder what the team felt as he was made captain in Vincent's absence . Pellegrini at his very worst.
Please do not pay him off city, leave him in the stands and see how he feels about his agent then.ok still a multi millionaire but with that greed ingrained in them it will hurt like hell.

Rammy, I haven't got a problem with him not leaving as he's still under contract he has every right to stay, the issue I've got is don't go running to the media slagging the club when you don't get picked. Whilst he's here and under contract we're still his employer paying his wages so have some fucking respect.
Exactly. I agree wholeheartedly, it's his prerogative to stay, but I have no doubt we would have been happy to subsidise him like we did with the others, but he (and seluk...) obviously tried to take the piss and we called their bluff.

I agree with most posted on here. IMO, Yaya, has been lazy and not put it in for over 12 months. Just watching him and his Ivorian mucker, Bony, walking around a pitch, with opposition teams, running rings around them, had me tearing my hair out. (I'm now bald!). He isn't fit or young enough, to play in this team, and recent reports of him being off for 3 days with a headache, makes me realise, he's now just given up. Get whatever deal you can in January Yaya, but didn't we have a nice time!

There's no fishing to bite anything on, it was a genuine question.

Pep isn't stupid, he knows what he is doing and it couldn't be any easier for him to do so. Stamp your authority and send a message to all the other agents out there over a player he wasn't going to use anyway. Do you really believe that if KDB or Aguero's agent came out and criticised the club at any time this season it wouldn't be sorted out behind closed doors in private rather than in the media and he would ban them from playing until they apologised? Come on. What Pep has done is fantastic and about time over a long and boring saga but he is a winner, just like Mancini is a winner and why he allowed Tevez to come back after vowing to never pick him again after what happend in Munich. Aleix Garcia is wanted more than Yaya and that was before Seluk came out with his usual nonsense.

Bemused to think why my opinion makes me Seluk Mk II but as you said you're quite entitled to it.

Strawman argument.

You don't like supporting players who are actually likeable? Serious question?
Yaya was never very charismatic - even when he was playing a blinder. So I never liked him for being "likeable". I liked him for being effective.

I'm not impressed with him at the moment though - because when he played a bit this season he looked as slow as his worst last year. I'm not offended by him having a dickhead agent though.

Off the pitch stuff never bothered me much as most of the things you read are devised by drama queens. I prefer to form my opinions from what I see on the pitch.

Fair enough. I would take a team of Zabs over a team of Toures every day--even if it meant winning less. If I am watching a game and my team is filled with bellends, I just can't get as excited as when its PZ, or Silva, or Aguero (players that at least pretend to care). To each his own...

love the way people seem to think that no one at the club will have tried speaking to Yaya or Seluk before Pep mentioned it in the press conference. Hearing the agent on Sky and reading reports in the papers we could have been having daily meetings with Seluk and he'd still deny that he & Yaya had been told he was getting dropped as it was merely a bargaining position ...

You know what Bill that is probably the closest we have come to the truth.I don`t want any player at the club thinking they are bigger and better than MCFC and certainly not a fucking clown of an agent who aint got a scooby when trying to look after his clients interests.By the same token Yaya should have had the balls to tell his agent to shut the fuck up,but by remaining silent on this issue it clearly shows he could`nt give two fucks about playing football ... just get a nice big pay cheque every month from doing fuck all.
As you quite rightly point out,how the fuck he got the Captains armband last season was a disgrace and as much as I always support our Managers,Pelle definitely fucked up big style with that appointment.
Still its wonderful to see our current Manager has the balls to show all and sundry at the Club, don`t take liberties or suffer the consequences.
Well done to that man Pep.

there was a time this thread would have been right at the top of the forum board as it would be commented and updated every few seconds. It seems to be spending most of its time languishing near the bottom. How Yaya's star has fallen due largely to his arsehole of an agent!!
