Yaya Toure apologises

Seluk thinks Yaya is some kind of special case, Pep doesn't. Pep judges every player on what they produce and not past glories. Footballs to short not to.

Yaya has been a great player for us and been involved in some big moments but all that is being eroded by his agents big mouth. If his agent continues to slate the club in a time when things are going great for us he's only going to alienate the fans even more and in turn their affection for want of a better word will lessen by the day for Yaya. Yaya only has one way to look for who's ruining his city legacy.

Sorry, Silva doesn't have a big personality?
I think you mean he's not an ego maniac.

Seluk is suggesting Pep only works with yes men & kids.
This is an insult to our players.

We have a squad full of big personalities. Pep is managing them just fine.

The apology is for the club, the players, the fans and Guardiola.

This conduct, Seluk's conduct, YaYa's conduct has not endeared him to the manager, so why you think the players would feel differently, I've no idea. Especially with zero evidence.

If Seluk & YaYa have pissed off the boss they all seem to adore, I'm sure any relationship players had with YaYa are souring quickly.
I don't think how the manager feels about a player's agent is particularly indicative of how the player's teammates will feel about the players. I don't know the players will think differently. But my sense is players don't share the same fervor fans do. I'm saying you wanting a player to put one in comes from the point of view of a fan. I am not sure actual players necesarily live the ups and downs that fans do. So its possible, perhaps even likely that no other player will feel such angst as to want to hurt Yaya in practice or kick him any harder over it. As for Seluk's words, I doubts they'll be parsing Seluk's words looking for slights like you've just done. You are a fan, so it makes sense you feel this way. They are workers... More likely than not, they care more about the footballing part of City, and their parts in that footballing and not inferring from some agent said that they didn't have big personalities.

I just don't see it. Like I said, I didn't play at such professional levels, so I cant tell you I know how these things play out. But at the semi pro level, It wouldn't register.

Revenge is dish best served cold.
Payback Mr Seluk.

Yaya should be one of the most loved and respected players we've ever had. We will always be grateful, but aligning yourself with that enormous tit has greatly tarnished your legacy.

Sky Soccer Special pundits and presenter just raised the Seluk response, Alan McInally just dissed the agent with a whole tyraid of perfect sarcasm. I hope other media pick up on it, it was classic.

Watched that, they were eulogising over us which makes a change until Cottee piped up with they're not running away with it yet, only played 5 league games so not likely to be are we??
Yes they all sides with Pep on this and like Gayle said, we've the financial to just say fuck off. He'll be out in January if not sooner.

And Pellers should apologise to Bobby and Bobby should apologise to the Clueless One and the Clueless one should apologise to Stuart Peirce and on and on. What a pair of tin-eared clowns Yaya and his agent are. Comedy duo.
It's about time pam that someone within the club took the slime ball to task,we have been to much of a soft touch in the past, pep has went up even further in my estimation of him after this, and it seems he has total control in all aspects regarding the players..

I wish Yaya had the balls to tell his agent to STFU. But I gotta believe this is the end of his career at City. Kind of sad it has to end this way. But it was only a matter of time, really.

Thoroughly disagree, I think Toure's behaviour and the actions of his agent will have made a few players very unhappy.

As for your notions on semi pro football, a player behaving like Toure in particular through his agent would be considered being a mard arse, and you'd be treated as such.

Haha! He'd have been ruined at semi pro. It's far more ruthless at that level.

Shame all this. Best player to play for us. Literally dragged us kicking and screaming to trophy after trophy. Should be remembered for all the amazing things he did for us

Yaya Toure's agent Dimitri Seluk has accused Pep Guardiola of failing to handle "big personalities" while casting doubt on the Manchester City boss' coaching qualities.

Seluk drew battlelines with Guardiola on Tuesday after the latter said he would not select Toure until he apologised for his representative taking grievances over being dropped from City's Champions League squad to the media.

The outspoken Russian, who once infamously complained over City showing disrespect to Toure because they did not give him a birthday cake, appears to be in no mood to say sorry and believes Guardiola's decision to drop his client and move on Joe Hart to Torino shows weakness.

"Pep doesn't want players with personality," he told the Daily Mirror. "He only wants players who are scared of him and will do what he says.

"The first thing he did when he arrived at City was to pick a fight with Yaya and Joe Hart, two of the club's biggest players.

"Hart is England's goalkeeper; Yaya has won the African Footballer of the Year four times. They have both been big personalities in the dressing room at City and Guardiola doesn't like that.

"When you first go into someone's house then you should treat them with respect. You don't go into someone's house and ask them to leave.

"He was the same at Barcelona. He forced Samuel Eto'o to leave the club. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a player who cost £57million, was sold for just £18million.

"It has to always be about Pep Guardiola, no-one else."

At Barcelona, Guardiola won 14 honours over the course of four seasons, collecting seven more in three subsequent years at Bayern Munich.

Nevertheless, the resources at his disposal on both occasions mean Seluk is unimpressed.

"Pep was successful at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, but take a look behind that success," he said.

"The team he took at Barca had been built by [his predecessor] Frank Rijkaard and then he was lucky to have Lionel Messi. It was Messi who made Barca, not Pep. Luis Enrique has shown that Barca's success was not down to Guardiola.

"It was the same in Munich. Bayern won the treble before Guardiola took over. They already had a great team on the pitch and a great organisation off the pitch. He couldn't fail. My grandfather could have won the league with that team.

"Carlo Ancelotti will keep Bayern at the top - but the difference is that i also think he will win the Champions League there.

"When Guardiola left Bayern there were a lot of happy people there once he had gone. He wasn't popular."

When discussing Toure's now seemingly bleak future in Manchester during the final year of his contract, Seluk said it will be a similar story at City when Guardiola's tenure there comes to an end.

"Yaya is a professional. He will keep doing everything that is asked of him and he will walk away from the club at the end of the season with his pride," he added.

"If City want to keep paying him not to play then that is up to them.

"But when his contract is over, he will tell the truth about Pep Guardiola and Manchester City's fans will not like it."

Gotta love Pep, about time someone at City spoke out about Yaya's gobshite of an agent.
Should be Yaya speaking out, but obviously he likes his agent making him look a complete tool.

Just listening to him on SSN here. Wow Jim White put him bang to rights! Making seluk look a right twat. Didn't see that coming. Fair play

I'm confused. Is anybody meant to give a fuck about any of that?
