Yaya Toure apologises

He was involved in all our recent trophy wins, so yes he is a legend. He is now also too slow and overweight. His time in our first team is very limited unless he can perform as he did in his prime.

Strange timing, is he trying to get a few games in before he leaves in Jan, or is it just as it says an apology.
He will be nowhere near starting as he wont be match fit after missing so many games, could be used off the bench and extra cover during the December games.
Its not in his legs anymore to due our pressing game but may be useful against teams that are parking the bus

Well done for Yaya for apologising. Hope he will have a part to play for the rest of the season. I have no doubt we will need him at some stage if we are to challenge on all fronts?

You make it sound like he's done something generous. His *only* motivation for apologising is his own self-interest, since he wants to play and has finally realised he won't be doing without an apology.

I am glad he has apologised, but honestly it's the least he could do and he took his bloody time over it.

He was waiting for us to send him a cake of reconciliation.

Really can't see him playing unless it's from the bench for the last 10 minutes and we're already well ahead in games. Too much water has flowed under the bridge.

Well at least Yaya has had the balls to apologise and Im not sure how that can be held against him...his agent on the other hand is clearly deranged

This can only be a good thing...the club have won the power battle with the only person that is important in this and that is Yaya....his agent isn't important and we will win that battle one way or another anyway

Yay being available for selection, a squad place, on the bench can still be an asset. In the one game he did play under Pep he made a noticeable effort to play the way pep wants...he may not be great at it but the effort was there and thats all you can ask

For the last 15 -20 mins of a game Yaya can still be an asset.......come on a produce a world goal or just help see out a game by maintaining possession which he is still good at. He will never be able to press, he just isn't built for that so he was never going to be in the team or peps long term plans but as a squad filler then he can still offer something at times....even if its giving a first teamer the last 10 mins off in a game (someone like silva or KDB ) just for that extra bit of rest to keep them fresh.

Of course we might not need him at all and in Peps system we may not but at least he could be an option now.

Utterly disgusted by how some of our so called fans can be so hateful towards one of the players who've helped to bring us medals recently.

Who needs enemies with fans like some on here?

I think I'll back the manager's judgement, whatever he decides to do, as he knows a lot better than anyone on here what's actually gone/going on, as he sees him every day, and as he said himself today, Yaya is involved in all meetings and training, so he's clearly not frozen him out completely.

Come on mate, it's not as if Yaya has always been complementary about us is it? It might not sit right with some, but I can see why he is getting some stick

Get over yourself. Yaya started it all when he told lie after lie about the club. A club we support. Until that point he got nothing but love from city fans and he's brought all this on himself. The sooner he fucks off the better.

Listening to five live BBC radio, typical raggy reporters at the BBC trying to twist news reports about Yaya. They are make it seem Yaya has done exactly what was asked, leading to the implication we are being unreasonable.

No mention that Pep asked his agent to apologise, and he has flatly refused.

Nice to see Yaya take the initiative & seemingly finally go behind his agent to take things into his own hands. Never ever expected the apology so he earned a big chunk of respect back for stepping up in that respect, however...

I don't see it changing much, he's not a Pep style player & quite clearly doesn't have the legs to do the job our midfield is asked to do. We're out of any competitions where he'd likely get game time already (League Cup) & the squad is in a good place and well settled - seems harsh to drop say Garcia/Fernando who've been nothing but professional for us.

So the question is what happens now, I see him remaining entirely on the fringes - so what will he/his agent say when Yaya has now apologised yet still doesn't play, no doubt more nonsense unfortunately.

True.
