Just heard on the radio that his agent has now said that Ya Ya will stay at City as long as he's promised a coaching role when he finishes palying!!!

Just abit of a u turn dont u think!

looks like our boys are whispering in Ya Ya's ears.

To be a coach it takes more than being a great player - you need to be a role model and earn the respect of the players you're coaching. If any of this farce turns out to be true why would we want to take him on as a coach?

The whole affair is utterly unbelieveable.

On £220k per week and crying over a lack of appreciation. His agent crying that some other player got a car for their birthday... I think he needs to go and spend some time amonst people who are struggling to eat everyday, or have lost loved ones for a lack of clean water. Football is creating some monsters these days.

Personally I would hold him to his contract until he is 34 and never play him if he doesn't recant. It's an expensive point to make but in the long run it would deter other 'superstar' players into trying to pull the same strunt.

Can see where your coming from but to pay someone another 50 miilion and not play them would make bad business sense!

The Scum have had nearly a week of stories out of three fookin' tweets - absolute disgrace

It wasn't just three tweets though was it and it hasn't been a week, they have reported it for two or three days. It was a concerted media campaign by the man Yaya pays and trusts to represent him. He did so many interviews on Tuesday it was incredible and they all made Seluk and by association Yaya sound barking mad. I don't know why you would expect the media to not think that is worth dwelling on. And it isn't by any means just the English media and it isn't even just the sports media so it is difficult to argue that it hasn't been incredibly newsworthy when almost without exception all manner of outlets, incuding very reputable ones have deemed it so. I am all for bashing journalists when they deserve it but I don't blame them at all for this, it is a problem entirely of Seluk and Yaya's making and if it was any huge world footballing star being this ludicrous I honestly believe there would have been the same resulting publicity.

Ridiculous amount of back-tracking, I can't imagine the club haven't already earmarked Yaya for a coaching role at the club, probably the biggest star (or at least one of them) to come out of Africa, who kids idolise and dream of being coached by, shouldn't even be an issue, the sort of thing that would put us, as a club, in a really good position.

Fuck-off Seluk !
There's the key point, do we want Dimitri Seluk being in a position of influence over young players at the club and possibly representing them, forcing us to have to put up with more of this shit in the future? If he's part of the bargain then under no circumstances would I want Yaya to have a coaching role at the club.

Fair point mate although I don't think it necessarily follows Seluk would automatically be all the kids agent, some maybe, but I'm more than comfortable the powers at our club are more than capable of dealing with the likes of him.

Re: Yaya Toure

Hoe does this crap agent get players to take him on. He is a joke with a joke strategy. My 13 year old son would have come up with a better strategy to engineer a pay rise or a move.

Re: Yaya Toure

And how many City fans have been howling at his every word despite 3 seasons of antics.

Ya Ya is a great player but he's proved he's no Patrick Viera - He's acted like a complete **** and then said I can show our young players how to conduct themselves.

That Sun 'journalist' has said that City -not Yaya and his agent- have embarrassed themselves??

I wonder what cut this **** is getting from Seluk?

An exclusive. Journalists rely on good faith, and part of the deal is that they spin it favourably for the one who divulges the info.

I am a long time lurker, first time poster but this whole incident with the fudge cake man has absolutely left me gutted and shaken to the core. Just this past weekend I celebrating for hours with friends and loved ones with huge cooler filled with fresh soda, grilled hamburger meat, and hot dogs! We had triumphed. And this was the first chance I could sit back and say, you know, a life's work is done here. I live in America, people do not know what ManCitta, as we say, is. But I cry and I bleed and have vomited and I have punched people in the face for this CLUB! OUR CLUB!! YAYA was my favorite player. I loved watching his big lumbering frame across the pitch. He looked like an oiled up dancer. So dexterious. So powerful, I can honestly say that if i was an opposing coach I would be mortified of watching every inch of this Ivorian machine penetrate and drive into my side. YAYA is a machine! He is so gifted, so strong, so powerful, so beautiful to watch on the field.

He has left me laying down on the couch with my mouth wide apart so many times. When I play in the park, and even though I am a bit overweight at 5'9, 237lbs, I feel Yaya in me. His spirit rides me deep and even though I cant do the things he can, I emulate my game after his. Large, powerful runs from the center half. I have scored 9 goals over 3 seasons doing this. What I mean to say, is I love this man. I love him with every inch of myself.

But I AM MAD!!!!! How dare he make a mockery of this club over WHAT? CAKE! CAKE!...As much as I love him I would smash a huge cake over his big balloon head right now!!!! He still has his twitter up, after 24 hours!!!!! He cannot still be asleep. I know they dont have technology and the internet in the Middle East region but sonmeone has to have called him. And even if they dont have cell phone there, how could the team not confront him over this? I love YAYA, I love him. He is magisterial. He is like a dancing horse with the ball but HE MUST set this straight or I Will NEVER say his name again.

YAYA, wtf mate??????????????????? I love you, i hate yoyu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JEEZ!! Did this REALLY bother people's title celebrations?! I don't get it at all.
I've been smiling all the way, still am and will be for the whole bloody summer!

edit: not aimed only at this wum, there has been similar (less OTT) posts throughout the thread and I don't get it

Re: Yaya Toure

If we offer him a coaching role now after all this shit it'll make Yaya look a charity case and City weak as well as unprofessional

...even if we were already going to do so -on merit.

This could have all been sorted behind the scenes if not for his loudmouth agent.

Re: Yaya Toure

I think before we start blaming Yaya we should look at some past performance from his agent..

1. when city were trying to sign Yaya, his agent came out and said that city are a poor club ( not a rich club ) because they cannot pay Yaya bigger wages..

2. His agent said that Yaya was upset because he had to travel alone to Africa to pick up his Africa player of the year award.

3. He said last season that Yaya would leave if the new contract wasnt sorted out, he signed a new one a couple of days later.

4. now his agent says that he needs more attention and a role when he finishes playing..

I think Yaya has sulked about something and his agent has taken full advantage..

I hope they sort it out because he is the best player i have ever seen at City and probabily the best we will ever see here..

Personally I think the fact that his representative has been an utter twat many times before makes Yaya more culpable not less.

It is probably a damage limitation exercise now, the fool didn't expect the ridicule they received from the media and fans.

He will be back no doubt.

You only have to look at Vieira as a player to know he was no saint back in the day, it's a role many have to develop into, PV included, kids look at who a player is rather than their personality traits initially.

Also, until Toure gives us his thoughts directly, I'm not going to give his loud-mouthed agents comments too much credence, up until a few days ago. Toure was held in pretty high esteem by most of us before this blew up.

Re: Yaya Toure

His agent says its not about money and they don't wont a penny more, if that's the case then let us presume this coaching role will be his gift to us.
