We wouldn't be able to replace Yaya with anyone, there is no other player like him or anywhere near good enough to replace him,I for one would be devastated if we lose him

There is no player like him but he is 31, he could break a leg or he could just have a shit season because he is demotivated.

His stock is high and there is no better time to do a deal that would ultimately suit both us and him.

Players come and go, that's football.

All true...plus with African nations cup next season it means he will be 33 when we next get a full season. That said I would not want him playing against us and he will leave a big void in the team that needs filling...

I'm just not a fan of these drama queens and their uppity agents anymore

Neither am I ... i've got zero time for any player who doesn't want to be part of the project no matter how good they are. I felt the same about Tevez when he wanted to leave and I feel the same now about Yaya. Love them as footballers, as men though they are thick spoiled ungrateful cunts.

Barkely's going to be a don of a footballer IMO. I've just read Martinez's comments about him.

He will return as the same person I can guarantee you that. He's not someone who will lose sight of realism when he comes back."

Martinez insists that he will continue to 'protect' Barkley, adding: "Ross is a phenomenal talent, probably the best English talent I have ever seen, but he is not the finished article yet and you need to be very careful.

It's our duty to protect him and I know Everton is the perfect place for him for the next 12 months.

In football obviously you can never speak about the future, and obviously we must try to get into the top four positions to offer players like Ross the next stage of their development.

But Ross is delighted at Everton and feels very much in the right place at the right time of his career.

I suppose you could read those comments however you want but they seem to me to be saying "we want him to stay for another season because we want to challenge for a top 4 place". Sadly for Martinez I think he's got more chance of competing for that top 4 place by cashing in on Barkley and using the money to buy a centre forward like Lukaku.

Totally agree mate, we just simply cant let this opportunity to pass us by to get him, if we dont then it will be Chelsea or United in twelve months time.

He might be tempted to overlook Rodwell's

A party would be potentially dangerous and I could see him doing a hamstring blowing his candles out!

Re: Yaya Toure

No news today? Weather he stays or goes, one thing is for certain. The club will be the winner. The tail no longer wags the dog

I love this forum!

Re: Yaya Toure

Thinking this through I wondered if City have a signing in the pipeline that Yaya will probably know about. I've seen Pogba and Barkley mentioned on here as possible cover/replacement for Yaya's role.

With the Africa Cup (and another mid-season disappearance) also in the mix, then a possible reduced role could trigger a 'lack of respect' reaction.

I don't agree with the 'get rid of him' crowd as he has been a fantastic asset to the club and last year had an amazing season, but if the lad feels he's being replaced and wants to go elsewhere - good luck to him - I wish him all the best. If he wants to stay then he needs to gag that muppet of an agent as all this bad press, although amusing and providing a distraction from waiting for transfer news, has tainted what should have been his best season ever.

Will he fuck, he's got a country to run..not pander to millionaire's and stroke their ego

Re: Yaya Toure

The best player ever in a City shirt (in some opinions) and he is being dismissed by some on here as a player we can just let walk out the door. The one big game player we have and has draged us this season to champions if not the best the MOST influential player I have ever seen at City IMHO irreplaceable.
