You haven't seen the RAWK reaction to that brand report or the Ragcaf transfer forum then?

Yeah I haven't, but i read a fair bit of this thread and it doesn't really paint many on here in a good light.

I thought we're all (in the main) adults here?

Some of the responses and anger here are unwarranted.

So given that Yaya and his agent's bahaviour has been absolutely huge news, has made headlines right across the world for basically taking the piss out of the club and the owner what reaction would you have expected from supporters generally? And which clubs' forums do you think would have been different and what do you think their reactions would have been?

In short mate - a more mature one to be honest. Soon we'll have fans coming up with stupid nick names a la Arsenal fans with Na$ri and the like.

Why we expect our players to be any different to the Rooney's and Suarez's of the world in demanding more pay/better conditions is naivety in the extreme.

Build a bridge and get over it.

I would also question whether this news is as huge as you envisage - you do realise there was a little competition finalised over the weekend called the Champions league? And there's a small tournament just a week or so away?

As I live outside the UK I can assure you that the global reach of this story is far more muted then you would expect...

Not returning calls. I think he has gone.

Don't believe we would hear anything definitive now until after the World Cup.

We would not want to telegraph our attempts to bring in a replacement with money burning a hole in our pocket.

Toure and his camp have been a disgrace in all this.

The ultimate decision is now with Txiki, not Khaldoon.

Not returning calls ?

If he's gone awol/into hiding with respect to our club's attempts to reach him to talk about this - then i can only agree with you. He's gone. As I said yesterday, Pellegrini and Txiki both have history for removing "big" players who they see as a problem. Pellers did it with Riquelme ... Txiki with Eto'o, Deco, Ronaldinho.

Yaya and his camp can fucking do one.

Some just don't get it still mate. Players come and go, they always have and they always will. There is no loyalty in football anymore and that goes for the club as well in that we will fuck off players we don't want.

I still think this is a perfect storm in so much as we may also want rid and Yaya and his agent have got wind?

Think we should go for Barkley or Fabregas if this is how he wants to play it.

100%.

I'd take Fabregas this summer and Barkley next. Don't think we can finance both deals this summer and I don't think we'd be able to bring Barkley in this summer without guaranteeing him some amount of first team football which will be hard if Fabregas and Fernando come in.

Re: Yaya Toure

So, now he has come out and said it "would be an honour to play for PSG".
Seriously, he can get fucked. It honestly baffles me how players would shit on the fans and throw away everything they have achieved and can achieve for a few extra quid.

Re: Yaya Toure

It's a pity that it is going to end this way but Yaya has crossed the line on this matter and I trust the club to get the right fee for him. Thanks for your contribution and enjoy being playing in a weaker league.

So go on, answer my question, which clubs' forums do you reckon would be this beacon of maturity that you seem to expect. I don't reckon any club's supporters would react any differently tbh. Just to clarify, I don't think anyone expectes much loyalty, if yaya had just said, I've done my bit and now I want a new challenge, I don't think many on here would have done anything other than thank him and wish him luck. But that isn't what he has done is it? When City fans switch on programmes that run nothing about football usually like Newsnight or HIGNFY and they are running items laughing that Yaya has been such an arsehole because your average person cannot fully get their head around such ludicrous behaviour then why on earth would it surpirse you to come on here to find people saying that Yaya has indeed been an arsehole. There's only one person at fault in all this, who has behaved in a pretty shameful manner but you would rather come on criticising supporters for being pissed off with him.

Comments about it being an honor to play for PSG this morning did it in for me. Can't see a way back after how disrespectful he's been towards everyone at the club. It all seems like he's after a bigger paycheck which just seems absurd on the wages he's on already....

They get rich and then they want better deals, more money, more power. They forget who made them rich in the first place.

Re: Yaya Toure

For me club legends are defined by how they are off the pitch as well as on it. Yaya's behaviour means he isn't even close to the likes of Colin Bell. Silva is probably closest for me now and the likes of Kompany and Zabs should be really appreciated for their public manner towards the club.

Why don't you keep up. This was taken from an interview with a French station a few months back. Yaya was simply being diplomatic about questions asked to him about PSG. This has come from the FRENCH media. Since when do tabloids take over any news from their French counterparts and we swallow it like chocolate (if you like chocolate, that is).

Feck me, 508 pages over this. I was a bit peed off at the start, but realized his agent done it before several times and it's simply a matter to leave to the board. City are in a position we don't depend on anyone other than Sheik Mansour (and even he wants the club to draw even soon). I really hope we get a new player in soon to get the attention of this CAKY subject and all the overreactions that came with it from the media and the fans (and loads of neutrals as well who don't wish us any succes).

Oh, and if Yaya stays and scores a few, I'm sure 95% on here will have forgiven him. I'd still say 'stupid Yaya, stupid agent, but what a player' ...

No it's not. It's from an interview he gave on Tuesday to France Football.

Re: Yaya Toure

What do you expect him to say to French football?

Standard interview guff

Re: Yaya Toure

Just for one second, think of the possibility that we want him gone. We want to cash in and rebuild again for the forseable future and that a 31 year old player with a fantastic transfer value is seen as surplus to requirements.

Maybe just maybe Yaya and his agent are really pissed off because they got wind of us not wanting them anymore?
