The interview was done before this drama.
Everyone calm down, he WILL be playing for us next season.

And after all he has done for us he deserves more respect.

But his agent slagged off the entire club and the owners.
Yaya then reacted by tweeting everything his agent said is true.

If he keep him now (unless we play him in the EDS) we will look like right cunts to the whole world. What would the other players think?

The problem for Yaya is that, at the moment, we're all really disappointed in him.

If he leaves it until after the world cup to communicate with the club and the fans, I think any apology (should that be forthcoming) will fall on deaf ears and that disappointment will have been replaced with irretrievable disgust.

He needs to speak now whilst he still has a chance.

People warmed back to Tevez pretty quickly - although never truly forgot his antics.
I suspect the same will be true of Toure if he returns. Fans are fickle, and if he's sticking the ball in the back of the net, we'll soften. Woe betide him if he has a few bad games though... the howling mob will be gunning for him

Tevez was different. At one point he was largely a blessing in an otherwise mediocre attacking force. He hated the rags and his playing style demands praise. However, it was always known he could be a bit of a cock. So no one was particularly surprised. Plus, the reasons he gave for leaving included being closer to his family which, true or not, couldn't be laughed at or considered disrespectful. Yaya has acted like an utter cock out of nowhere. That is why it is more shocking.

I don't agree.
After the Bayern fiasco, people were calling for his head. There was very little sympathy for him. You need only look on the archives here to see how much vitriol there was for him, then his subsequent golfing trip irked massively too.
By the time he arrived back, and started scoring, we rapidly warmed to him again.
Then in the final season, we all knew the score, and he played well for us - by then, the drama was all over. But he was definitely public enemy number one for a good few months. WIthout a doubt.

Re: Yaya Toure

The interview is a lot of words saying nothing. Just "dmitri speaks for me and I trust him"; "I love Barcelona and I would go back but you never know in football"; "I wanted to win the football of the year award, hard to get respect for african players"

Says nothing about his treatment from City and the Barcelona line is the same thing he's been saying for the past 4 years.

Re: Yaya Toure

So Yaya feels disrespected because we didn't make enough of a fuss of him on his birthday! ?

What a utter shambles this has become. I say we sell him ASAP and buy a player that wants to play for us for the right reasons. Not players coming here thinking they're doing us a massive favour we should be eternally grateful for whilst being treated like royalty and 'earning' a kings ransom each week. Talk about biting the hand that feeds.

Bye bye Yaya nice whilst it lasted.

Dear oh dear oh dear. The fucking irony in that comment.

Yes respect is a 2 way street, I get your comment. But I still think this will be sorted out and has been blown out of all proportion.
He's still pissed off that he didn't win the PFA player of the year, I think that has a lot to do with it and he is venting his frustration at the club.

Re: Yaya Toure

Pretty shitty interview, he didn't say anything important and behind those words he is triying to sai 'Man City is good, but i can do better'
Fuck off Yaya, such a bad way of dealing with success...

To be fair to Tevez we all knew that he would give 100% on the pitch even if he wasn't happy being at the club. Unfortunately I don't think an unhappy Ya Ya Toure will perform in the same professional manner - we all know he doesn't give 100% for lesser games now.

Remember with time most fans developed a different take on that night in Munich. Not ONE of the players nor staffers backed up Mancini's claims of what happened. Carlos shouldn't have went awol, but I suspect Mancini was the real nutter in that particular case.
Also, Teves had no problems with the club, just the manager, and always spoke well about us.
