Just maybe he wants to move to France and it was his wish all along. Yaya and his family are French speaking so Paris is a lure.
That's fine if that's the case. However, there's a right way to go about making that happen and then there's the way that Yaya and his agent have gone about it.

Exactly.... we'd then have thanked him for his fantastic contribution, wished him all the best and spent the 25m fee on another player who could hopefully have a similar impact.

Right now he's busy destroying his reputation as well as a fantastic chapter in his,and our clubs, history.

He and his mucker should be fucking ashamed.

Try much closer to £50m.

And yes, I'm being serious.

Forget his age, the clubs that want him will.

Re: Yaya Toure

Yaya's altitude for the club and fans sums up why I'd not cross the road to talk yo a player of any club let alone ours...perhaps the exceptions being Komps, Zaba and Sliva.

The rest I'd bet are only a moment from being off. Just ask yourself if our money went tomorrow how many would hang about?

Just for one second, think of the possibility that we want him gone. We want to cash in and rebuild again for the forseable future and that a 31 year old player with a fantastic transfer value is seen as surplus to requirements.

Maybe just maybe Yaya and his agent are really pissed off because they got wind of us not wanting them anymore?

Interesting take, mate, although I don't see it.

You don't need to destroy a legacy like that.

Toure can take his pick, there's no way City would willingly let their name be dragged through the mud like this, just to serve an ultimate agenda.

All Toure had to do was speak directly with City and tell them he had reached the end of the line.

I'm sure all he has done has enabled City to consider the pros of a sale.

31 and 3 years left on our biggest contract with clubs all over Europe that would move heaven and Earth to snap him up makes him our biggest bargaining chip and Txiki has previous of moving out players at the so called top of their game.

Getting rid of Yaya now makes so much sense from a FFP stance.

I tend to agree, although I also believe it makes sense, irrespective of FFPR.

You always sell at the peak, more so, when they are 31 and break convention in terms of asking price.

Yaya is a statement signing for any club.

What City would have to do is ensure our replacement was of equal statement, at least in terms of worldwide recognition.

I'm just aware of what has happened, in public, before with Toure, his agent at Barca and City.

Like I said to the last guy who tried to use last year and the year before as a way to excuse this garbage ... Toure's agent put not just the club but it's owners on blast with his comments since the season ended. I for one don't give a shit about how good a player he is, as a group of supporters our loyalties should lie with Sheikh Mansour and co.

This has shades of Mancini/Tevez/Balotelli all over it and the lesson those three learned is that for Abu Dhabi perception and image is as important as talent.
As fans we don't really know what's going on until months later, and even then you get a biased version of events

If we have learned anything about Tevez, and Mancini, maybe it's not to jump up and down

I'm not going to join in with the hang him and flog him herd whilst I don't know what is going on.

Spot on, exactly where I'm at in all of this.

I find the hissy fits from City fans as pathetic as Seluk to be honest.

Transfer fee and wages saved would certainly allow us to replace him with an equally world class talent and that's why I don't give two shits either way.

Players come and go and yes he has played a huge part in our success but his leaving wont stop us as a club going on to the next level.

I wouldn't hesitate trying to convince him otherwise then. That sort of money, and his wages off the books, coupled with our current budget, would secure the improvements our squad needs and make us far stronger without him.

I really hope he's gone.

Had to go Bluemoon cold turkey this weekend.
Is he leaving again then?
Come back at page 600, we might be a bit more wiser by then!
