Re: Yaya Toure

The club is bigger than any player. If he wants to leave, well thanks for trophies and bring us 50m or so in return of your selling. He should stop whoring by saying honour to play for PSG etc. Keep it behind the closed doors.

No. For the final time. There's nothing similar about Toure wanting to leave because ... well he just wants to leave. And Benatia, a player who's never won a major title in his life at 27 years old wanting to move to a club where he has a better chance of winning the big things. The only similarity is that both players want to leave. I really don't understand why this very simple concept is proving so difficult for you to grasp. But anyway I leave you with the final word.

So a player revealing to the press how much he is paid is fine. OK.

He doesn't just want to leave. He wants more money.

Every discussion doesn't have to be an argument.

Thanks for the final word...I didn't realise we were married!

That's the point i made before mate, you can almost forgive someone for leaving for a better club as you have the comfort of thinking 'he wanted to leave to win trophies'

Almost like when we sold SWP to Chelsea, we were all gutted but he had been distracted by the fact a top English club wanted him

I don't think you can forgive someone who wants to leave the champions of England when they are already getting paid £200K a week

Like i said where do you go from City if its not just about money?

Benatia and Toure are totally different situations

We will have to disagree then though I understand your point.

To answer your question...Bayern Barca and Real Madrid spring to mind.

I dont think for a moment Benatia would come to City if another club offered him more money than we would.

Both players are trying to leave and both players are going about it in a way which will leave most Roma and City supporters unhappy.

Thats my point, if he ends up at Madrid, Barca or Bayern then ill say fair enough, he's gone to a bigger club who have a much better chance of winning the CL than we have.

But im not having that PSG are a better side than us, and over two legs id be confident of beating them as Chelsea proved.

I agree with you in some ways, players will do what they have to do to either engineer a move or to bleed more money out of their current club.

I'm still not sure what Yaya wants, If he goes to PSG then its money, if he stays with us and signs a new contract id say its money, if he signs for Madrid Barca or Bayern ill say its trophies, which is similar to the Benatia situation

Im probably going round the houses, but if Benatia signs for a team on par with Roma then its money related, if he signs for one of better teams in Europe then you have to say its trophies, and the side issue is that he'll earn more money

What was your take on Rooney and United? Did you slate him for bleeding United time after time?

Re: Yaya Toure

Although I don!t think the Yaya and Benatia situations are exactly the same they are certainly analogous, and to dismiss that seems to be a tactic to prove a point or argument.

I thought it was hilarious :-) I hope he does it to them again.

If he had done it to us I wouldn't have been happy but like to think I could see it for what it was. Players aren't supporters which is hard to accept sometimes.

If Benatia wanted to come to City for less money and purely to win trophies to fulfill his dream of playing for City then I would agree!

I don't think a footballer in history has moved clubs without an increase in wages so you have to look at the move as a whole before judging the players motives

I too thought it was friggin hilarious, he's a fat overpaid piece of crap, and he will never reach the levels he acheived three/four years ago

But the fact you wouldn't have been happy shows where those that aren't happy with Yaya are coming from?

I guess we still don't know the ins and outs, but if its money related a year after signing a 4 year deal then id be even more annoyed!!

Re: Yaya Toure

The thing that pees me off more than anything about this saga is that I was hoping for a nice summer of the media not having anything to have a go at us with and with the warm glow of another title under our belts. Instead, even before the trophy is in the cabinet he throws this at us.

The annoying thing to me abouy Yaya is that he has probably ruined his legacy with his cake, and I didn't want to remenber him for that. My favourite player ever in a City shirt. That said I still want him to stay as we are a much better team with him on the park and I can put up with what he has done/said. Its not as bad as a Suarez situation.

Disappointed yes. Outraged no.

Keep (if we can)

I think people are more dissapointed rather than thinking its the end of the world, or they should be really!

But yea from point of view the ideal scenario is he comes out and apologises for all of this and vows to get his head down and carry on trying to win trophies with us

My only gripe is that is he thought the above then he probably would have said something by now
