Re: Yaya Toure

I have seen people throwing around figures like 40 or even 50 million when talking about how much we'll get for Yaya if we sell - sorry to say it but that is just dreaming. A 31 year old who has made it very public that he wants to leave will bring in 25 million I would say. In fact the whole benefit of this sorry saga is for him to be able bring his price down, both facilitating the move and probably earning him and his parody agent a nice signing on fee.

We will have to disagree then though I understand your point.

To answer your question...Bayern Barca and Real Madrid spring to mind.

I dont think for a moment Benatia would come to City if another club offered him more money than we would.

Both players are trying to leave and both players are going about it in a way which will leave most Roma and City supporters unhappy.

Thats my point, if he ends up at Madrid, Barca or Bayern then ill say fair enough, he's gone to a bigger club who have a much better chance of winning the CL than we have.

But im not having that PSG are a better side than us, and over two legs id be confident of beating them as Chelsea proved.

I agree with you in some ways, players will do what they have to do to either engineer a move or to bleed more money out of their current club.

I'm still not sure what Yaya wants, If he goes to PSG then its money, if he stays with us and signs a new contract id say its money, if he signs for Madrid Barca or Bayern ill say its trophies, which is similar to the Benatia situation

Im probably going round the houses, but if Benatia signs for a team on par with Roma then its money related, if he signs for one of better teams in Europe then you have to say its trophies, and the side issue is that he'll earn more money

What was your take on Rooney and United? Did you slate him for bleeding United time after time?

I thought it was hilarious :-) I hope he does it to them again.

If he had done it to us I wouldn't have been happy but like to think I could see it for what it was. Players aren't supporters which is hard to accept sometimes.

If Benatia wanted to come to City for less money and purely to win trophies to fulfill his dream of playing for City then I would agree!

For the most part we are not quite there yet.

Right now players will come for four things:

1. International Prestige (Champions League; putting themselves in the shop window for their national sides, if they aren't already there--Fernandinho really helped that cause, actually)
2. Incredibly Talented Teammates (the chance to let your skills shine with Silva, Aguero, Fernandinho, and Kompany)
3. Great Wages (We can't discount how much this affects decision making for footballers and non-footballers alike)
4. The wonderful culture and weather of Manchester (this explains itself)

But give us five or so more years of this level of success and players will have five reasons to consider us over all others.

"2020 Young Player of the Year Moving to Manchester City

The prolific striker, who has already been capped seven times by his national side, will be joining Manchester City for an undisclosed fee, though sources indicate it is in the region of 20 millions pounds. Reports in Europe indicate there were other more lucrative offers from PSG, Monaco, Aston Villa, Al Ain, and Manchester United but the 18 year-old chose Manchester City to fulfill a longstanding dream. "I've always dreamed of playing for Manchester City. When I was a little kid I used to make believe that the supporters were chanting my name like Kun Aguero or Edin Dzeko as I scored the championship winning goal. I've grown up watching them win titles the right way--the way I like playing football. I couldn't turn down playing in the light blue. Who could?"

Zindine Zidane in 2001 age 29 went to Real Madrid for around 61m! 2001 if a club wants a player they will pay up 40m should be our bottom line

There's a certain (gold) standard of reply that you should be aspiring to Kaz. That falls some way short. Soft, furry kittens could do better!

Do you want me to be nicer or nastier?
Oh; nastier. Definitely. I love it when a lady talks dirty!
