Re: Yaya Toure

i have a feeling theres going to be a lot of backtracking on here. Why not wait until all the details have come out before you call him every name under the sun. You should all know by now what the press can do with words to make a headline.

Not from me pal, he has associated himself with a huge throbbing weapon of an agent and could have nipped this whole thing in the bud just a few days after our title win, therefore he is also a weapon IMO. I know I didnt dream the birthday cake bollocks, it was an embarrassment.

Now if he stays will I cheer his goals? If I have to... ;)

There's nothing to backtrack over, even if he does stay and plays out of his skin next season it doesn't take away form the fact he's left City fans hanging on for what will be 2 months whilst him and his agent flirt with other clubs. If he apologises and says he's been a twat I might change my stance, but if after the World Cup he says it's never been his intention to leave, then he can still fuck off.

Bollocks.

Regardless of his future actions,he's made himself look a proper cretin and treated our club with a complete lack of respect.

If PSG,or whoever, had have taken advantage of the situation(and they still might....) he created,he'd have been off like a shot imo.

The tosser has made his bed.

Only just seen the PSG comments hadn't seen them before! Coffin. Nail. In.
They were apparently made in an interview (I think) back in January. The media have just decided to lump them all in one without bothering to mention timescales or circumstances. Personally I would ignore the PSG ones as Dzeko had sort of similar recently (although that could have been months ago too) when an Italian media outlet asked him about ever playing in Italy.
Of course the recent cakegate tweets and the rest of the crap is another matter. A TV interview wouldn't come amiss Yaya.

Without a doubt the media do this. They either take old quotes and misleadingly present them as 'current' (without ever expressly claiming it), or they put leading questions to people .e.g. 'what do you think of PSG's success' and the player tries to be polite and says 'I think it's incredible'... then the next day, the headline is 'Player thinks PSG are incredible'.

But still, any player with some decent media training should be able to qualify his comments and sign off any interview with a glowing statement of happiness with City.

When you give an interview saying 'we will see after the world cup' it's glaringly vague (at best) and arguable provocative (at worst).
I think this is where many City fans feel let down by Yaya. He has it in his power to quell all of this nonsense rather easily, and hasn't done so. I don't blame him for media hype, and I don't blame him for not responding to each and every little prod the media make, but I do blame him for making one clear statement and putting it to bed.

YAYA TOURE has performed a U-turn and said he has no immediate plans to quit Manchester City.

But he has reaffirmed that he believes he deserves more respect from the Premier League champions after helping them to two titles in three years.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/5658288/Yaya-Toure-says-he-does-NOT-want-to-leave-Manchester-City-for-PSG.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sp ... r-PSG.html</a>

now i really i want to know what will he tell in the statement....
