The problem I foresee is trying to buy his replacement before we've sold him, seeing as we will have to wait until after the World Cup.

Due to FFP we will be giving him the advantage if we sign someone prior to getting shut as he will know we have to lower the price to ensure he's gone.

Tricky shit.

And not gone unnoticed by the Toure camp. Cynical in the extreme.

The only way to counter something such as this would be to make it a swap deal.

That only works with Barcelona.

Funny that...

Dzeko has just said words to the affect of what Toure has said...

Did he mention if he likes marzipan though ?

Not returning calls. I think he has gone.

Don't believe we would hear anything definitive now until after the World Cup.

We would not want to telegraph our attempts to bring in a replacement with money burning a hole in our pocket.

Toure and his camp have been a disgrace in all this.

The ultimate decision is now with Txiki, not Khaldoon.
Not returning whos calls?

Take your pick, anyone of influence at the club.

To clear something up, City have established Yaya does not post directly onto his Twitter timeline.

He has a PR woman in the UK who felt she was only doing her job by tweeting a downplay of the original Sun interview.

Everything which came after was Seluk/Yaya.

My own opinion (for what it's worth), Yaya just fancies a change of scene, has just overreached and gone about it disgracefully.

For those who (understandably) are trying to defend him (great player and all that)

If the deputy Prime Minister let slip he hated immigrants, yet the Prime Minister decided not to comment or take action, it's a fair bet the Prime Minister is equal of guilt, both by his association and a silence which is taken for legitimacy?

I think we can all appreciate what Yaya has brought to this team, even if he can't see it.

The split opinions in this thread, it would be interesting to see what the age impact is? Those who fear the good times are going to come to a sudden halt, without Yaya in the team?

And those who are a little older and regardless of success, feel the club should always be bigger than any player?

Re: Yaya Toure

Whoever are saying that fabregas will be a good replacement for.yaya, well he.may be,but.i highly.doubt that he will join any other club other than arsenal.

Re: Yaya Toure

The best bit of this thread is the rags and the needy posting in it. Blues thinking it's the end of the world if a very good player wants to leave. Defending him and his stance. He gone you needy fucks. Get over it.

Now we go and buy a new younger Yaya.

If he is not returning calls then Khaldoon and Txiki should fly over there and speak to him in person and sort this out
I was watching him being interviewed on the pitch after the title win and he showed no sign of being anything other than delighted and looking foward to next season
Sounds like he wants a move but what a completely cuntish way to go about it
He can fuck off and we will move on.This must have thrown our summer plans into chaos and the" i'll tell you after the world cup" displays an arrogance i never thought i would see from him
If he stays please show him in the first home game how upset we have been by not singing his name,he will need to earn the respect back but i think he has gone too far and we will sell him if we can replace him this window,if not he will have to stay till next year.I am so disapointed in this,i thought the days of troublemakers were gone
I see you have your sweary head on today Karen.

Did he also mention that City can't win the title without him, or that Txiki and Soriano will have to sweep Trafalgar Square as a forfeit?

Did he also insist that our owner can't buy his loyalty?

As far as Toure is concerned: "My agent speaks for me."

Last year we didn't win it WITH him.

He'd get himself into a good position to answer the phone, then just miss the call.

Don't mess with an angry Stepford when they have a bee in their bonnet mate.
Easier just to nod in agreement, even if you don't agree, or decamp to a religion or politics thread 'downstairs' for a bit of peace and quiet.

Re: Yaya Toure

Unless I've missed something Yaya has three years left and we dont have to sell if we dont want to...same situation as Rooney and Suarez.

How do you replace a one off ?

Ah, you're now confusing me with a football genius!

Big clubs seem to continue to win trophies, even after they have sold their stars.

If we stand still with Yaya, we only have the problem in two years time when he goes into his final 12 months and he is 33.

I think Vidal would be a great replacement, but I'm sure Juventus would want Jovetic in exchange.

If we did that (and I'm a Jovetic fan) we would still have best part of any Yaya fee to bring in a couple more big names.

People on big money to make big decisions like that.

I'd use the rest of Toure money to sign Reus from Dortmund.

Think of Reus, Vidal, Fernando and Mangala/Benatia....and all in budget.

You are spot on Tolm..

Looking at it like that, it would be best for the club..

Its still upsetting to think that the last goal we will see Yaya score for City will be the Villa goal...

That was trademark Yaya and a goal that will be remembered by City fans for years and years..

I agree with you but with the caveat that if David Silva decides to leave I might become one of the needy fucks.

Re: Yaya Toure

Toure has been great for us, but he looks to be angling for a move he and his agent have been a pain every summer since he signed so....

Pros
Its the best time to sell him from a transfer fee point of view £40-50 million I'd guess before city would consider selling

He won't probably wont have another season like he just had, yes he scored 20 goals but 6 penalties and a few free kicks from what I recall, we have other players that can take set pieces....

He is 31 probably only one more top season left in him I'd say, judging by how knackered he is after every run

We can give fernandinho license to attack more as he wont have to cover for Toure for 90 minutes, see what he can do he scored some great goals at his previous club.

I think the thought for toure this season may have been to play him further forwards and remove his defensive responsibility, this is possibly toures best position but there are other who can play there.

Will make summer transfer window more interesting if all of a sudden city have an additional £50m to play with for a midfielder or two.

Cons
Runs from deep dragging three or four opposition players with him will be a thing of the past.
