Re: Yaya Toure
Phew- thanks for explaining it might be libel rather than slander. The fact is they are worrying, and potentially damaging comments.
Second -I think the the 'if' should be emphasised in capitals, not just the 'is'
And- it is more than 'giving him what he wants'. Whilst I agree it would be disappointing that we have to cave in to his pressure and give him a move, if he meant these comments, then I'm not sure we can keep him at the club.
I'm not sure if it has been lost in translation, a mis quote etc...but IF he was purposely being negative about City, and basically lying then I'm not sure he can stay. Our owner is obsessed with a good worldwide image to help us progress as a club. By keeping a player who has claimed we stopped him spending time with his dying brother would almost seem like we have condoned his behaviour.
IF Yaya was being negative about City then we need to wash our hands of him.

No club statement yet? I'd expect them to want to deny this as strongly as possible, to make such an accusation at a club obsessed with having a good image will not please them.
Now, let's assuming Yaya has made this up - which history (Adebayor, Zaba, Mancini, Pellegrini all getting leave) tells us is probably the case - he will want City to sell him on the back of this. And that's why City shouldn't sell him and make him stay.
Being a club who is keen to have such a good public image means we have to seriously consider selling him, I think.
How can we let him stay after this. We have to wash our hands completely of him if this is untrue, andf publically.
Not sure he can stay after such slander. IF it's not true.
For starters, if it is in print it is potentially libel, not slander.
Second, if this IS (as some suspect) another attempt to force a move, then why give him what he wants?
