Yaya Toure [Merged]

i do find it very strange, on one hand im glad we aint paying over the odds for players, but if there was a deal to be done, then we should get it done if we are going to be a big force in world football, especially if yaya had all but agreed to come to us, ive got this funny feeling that yaya may get rid of his agent soon, especially if kolo has a word, no before you all shoot me down im not 'itk' just a feeling

but his agent said he had agreed a deal....surely wages are probably the most important thing when talking to a player and trying to get a deal done....so confusing

my take is that we had agreed his personal terms, and provisionally agreed the agent's fee. but if Barca want too much, then either we fork out for it or everyone's end takes a hit, most of all the the agent. he won't come out and say his client isn't worth what Barca are asking because his job is to talk Yaya's value up.... you can't very well say say, 'he's not worth 35m' then say 'he's worth 150kp/w and a 3m fee to me'.

this guy is a grade 1 dick barca can't stand him and have stated it on a couple of occasions as far as i am concerned city are in the driving seat and have offerded a good contract but this dick is driving the price up i mean yaya is in south africa so we are dealing with the agent as for people slagging cook off for not getting these deals done he would have been told to negotiate the best deal for the club not the selling agent and his player and for story's being leaked we have well and truly learnt our lessons over the past few windows we all need to chill out and wait i'm sure we will sign good quality players and cook and marwood are doing the best they can for the club in getting these players

I think the Times have it wrong given what we know the agent has said now, and in the past. Are Arsenal going to pay more than City?

£29 Million for Yaya, and we think it's too much when we're bidding £20 Million plus for Milner. Paid more han that for Robinho. Were going to pay record feews for Kaka, Ronaldinho, Torres etc.

I think there must be more to this transfer than that. Saw an interesting post on this board from a Gooner which said that their President is about to change tenure...in days. Perhaps this is complicating matters, and the agent is now thryin to force this through before the new man comes in, with different ideas?

I don't know, but it's not making sense. We've shown a willingness to pay bigger fees than this in the past, and this is a really top player - will be our biggest potential signing to date - so there must be more to it.

maybe the sheik doesnt want to spend as much money this year,he has spent a fuk load so far...being honest, january we brought in VIEIRA for free,..... and aj for 6 million (one for the future).hardly mind boggling money and boateng was only 10 million. i think the club counted on being in the champions league next year so the sheik wudnt have to constantly spend just his own money, hes not a printing machine,so i think we may have a tighter budget than ppl think, not saying we only have 20 mil or something but i dont think its 100 mil or above t thalike alot of ppl think.the idea of the club is probably to tweek one or two positions and go for fourth again with their first choice manager

"Everything has changed with City, because they talk a lot but then afterwards they don't appear to be a rich club but rather a bankrupt one."

are you freaking kidding me city? only we could fuck this up, it's not even funny

most probably Gary 'fat face' Cook spouting shizzle

although if we are pursuing someone better like lucho gonzalez all is forgiven but i just don't know

also his agent talks too much

Good post. Spot on,

Thing is, it's ok saying we won't be taken for mugs and we'll walk away from a deal when we think it's too much, but then we'll go and pay £25m for James Milner. We pissed and moaned about value for money last year aswell....then went and paid £24m for Lescott. No offence on Lescott (who i like) but the point still stands.
