i may be way of here but it looks like manchester city will not be taken for mugs no more and we are playing hard ball with all transfers as in we will not pay inflated prices just because we have money.

We should walk away now and tell them to shove it up their arse, we dont want no more overpaid premadonas at our club, we want players who are hungry for success and want to make city the best club in the world not the club who just pays big wages to overrated players

but his agent said he had agreed a deal....surely wages are probably the most important thing when talking to a player and trying to get a deal done....so confusing

Yaya Toure's agent Dimitri Seluk believes the midfielder could be part of the deal to bring Cesc Fabregas back to Camp Nou.

The Barcelona player had been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City, captained by older brother Kolo.

Seluk insisted last week that a deal had already been agreed with an un-named English club, but now says his client could form part of the Fabregas deal.

Interest
He told Rac-1: "There's a lot of interest in the deal (for Toure).

"Arsene Wenger likes him and Arsenal are interested.

"If the conditions are good, everything can be finished soon.

"He could come into the Cesc deal and Barca and Arsenal are struggling to come to an agreement.

"Everything has changed with City, because they talk a lot but then afterwards they don't appear to be a rich club but rather a bankrupt one."
Meanwhile, the Catalans confirmed on Monday that they have slapped a €35million (£29m) price-tag on Toure, something which Seluk last week insisted was too high.

While Barca president Joan Laporta is resigned to letting Toure go, he feels Arsenal must be prepared to do the same with Fabregas.

Privilege
He said: "If a player of this characteristics, who also has the privilege of being Arsenal captain, announces to the club that he understands his time there has come to an end and he wants to continue his career at a club like Barca...

I think his agent fcuked any chance of a deal going through now tbh, city's heirachy won't like that!!

And he may well have fucked Barca's chance of getting Cesc. La Porta wants him pronto before he leaves that is why all this desperation.

Do you have a link? I can't see anything about it on their online edition.

so Yaya's agent confirms what many fans here believe in regards to the rumours of a thousand different players being linked to us and none of them ever coming to fruition.

If we won`t pay what he wants,i can`t see anybody else paying it either.

But to be honest i don`t think anyone knows whats going on,the only person saying anything about this is his agent.Nothing from Barca,City or Arsenal,so it looks like the agent is a little pissed off.Didn`t City say that the wouldn`t deal with greedy agents anymore after last season,if this is the case it sounds like we have told the greedy bastard where to go.

my take is that we had agreed his personal terms, and provisionally agreed the agent's fee. but if Barca want too much, then either we fork out for it or everyone's end takes a hit, most of all the the agent. he won't come out and say his client isn't worth what Barca are asking because his job is to talk Yaya's value up.... you can't very well say say, 'he's not worth 35m' then say 'he's worth 150kp/w and a 3m fee to me'.

I think the Times have it wrong given what we know the agent has said now, and in the past. Are Arsenal going to pay more than City?

£29 Million for Yaya, and we think it's too much when we're bidding £20 Million plus for Milner. Paid more han that for Robinho. Were going to pay record feews for Kaka, Ronaldinho, Torres etc.

I think there must be more to this transfer than that. Saw an interesting post on this board from a Gooner which said that their President is about to change tenure...in days. Perhaps this is complicating matters, and the agent is now thryin to force this through before the new man comes in, with different ideas?

I don't know, but it's not making sense. We've shown a willingness to pay bigger fees than this in the past, and this is a really top player - will be our biggest potential signing to date - so there must be more to it.

i think its fair to say this deal is off-no way the clubb will go near that agent again.to be honest i knew this deal wud come down to his agent, anyone who has heard him speak in the past will know that he is a grade A wanker.he talks of yaya as if he is god and doesnt hide his feelings for other clubs. i remember him last year when he was trying to get yaya a new contract, his actions were dispicable,i doubt he has a deal with any club, just wants to have 1
