Roberto Mancini can f*** off: he's had two full seasons here and only won the league once. He's f*** all use in the CL. Sorriano and Begiristain can both f*** off: they've been here since summer and Ronaldo and Messi are still in Spain! Why else did City want them in the first place? David Silva can f*** off: he was rubbish against Everton. His head's been turned by Barcelona. Aguero can f*** off : he's a £38 million sick note this season! And now Ya Ya Toure can f*** off because the man who isn't even a FIFA registered agent waits until he's out of the country and makes up a pack of lies about him wanting to leave because of a "lack of respect". He can still f*** off because he hasn't been as good this year as last. He's bone idle anyway.

All of these sentiments have been expressed on this forum recently. Some are expressed with all the predictable regularity of a group of serial malcontents. Others are the spoilt baby remarks which follow each defeat. They all have in common a seething bitterness aimed at those people who are actually the backbone of our club and it's success. Only Sheikh Mansour is immune from criticism. But give it time...if we don't win the CL next season.

I have a long "City memory". My teens were spent watching the great Mercer-Allison team, which finished top of the league in 1968...and then finished 13th, 10th, 11th and 4th (5 points clear - 2 for a win - 5 left to play!) before the Mercer-Allison partnership broke up, and then that was it, with the exception of the League cup in 1976, until 2011, with this manager and these players. There are no guarantees in football, apart from the guarantee that if you drive your best people out of the club, you'll never win anything. That's the lesson City fans should have learnt better than anyone.

Too many "keyboard warriors" who don`t understand what us old `uns have put up with for decades,watching our beloved blues.
Our sense of humour was acknowledged by all and sundry, which kept our sanity going,when most would have packed in watching.

A quality bit of tub thumping i agree,however,it doesnt address any of the issues that have plagued us this season.

The problem is that very few of the issues we have to face actually "plague" us. Our season is being presented as a monumental failure, comparable to the "capitulation" that Hansen promised Mancini was presenting last March. Just as we actually did the opposite of "capitulate" last April and May, so we aren't living through a self-made disaster now.

We have 59 points from 29 matches and at that rate would end the season with 77 points. I think most would be disappointed with that if we had been told this at the start of the season. It would never win the PL but should be good enough for second, if we get 77. The problem is that the team we all dislike above all others (to put it mildly) already has 74 points and is on course to finish the season with 96, which is a record total. In other words no team at any time would have pushed them into second. It is this which has distorted everyone's - our own fans as well as pundits - view of our season. And let's not denigrate our achievement last season: we didn't win the title because United blew it, or because we got two goals in stoppage time or because the rags blew a two goal lead against Everton. We won the title because we did better than the second placed team, in a season in which they got more points than any other runners up. At times we played the best football the PL has ever seen, we scored at rates not rivalled since the 19th century. We won the title and we won it well.

In the CL we went out to Madrid and Dortmund. Ajax beat us to third. Ajax won at OT last season, and Madrid won there this. United went out to Madrid. Dortmund disposed of Shaktar with ease, after Chelsea had been well beaten in Donetsk and struggled at home. Arsenal lost to two German sides this season, one of which is well below Dortmund in the Bundesliga and which won 2 - 0 at the Emirates. A big part of the CL is exactly WHEN you meet strong teams, and United met them one round later than we did.

So, fine, I was standing on my soap box and thumping my tub - but let's be clear on what the real issues are before we start on the same old broken records of sack the manager, kick players who don't put any effort in or "don't want to play for City" or don't "value the shirt" or any other of the facile crap we get thrown at us.

Been there since the 50/60s and would never swap a moment, a journey unrivaled.
The key board warriors never ever drank in the Claremont or the Parkside before or after a game.

An offer of around £25million to £30million would surely tempt the club with him turning 30 this year but I'm uneasy with the idea of selling an important part of the team's backbone.

I agree but if he wants out there is no point forcing him.I suspect a new contract will be thrashed out.I am confused by what his agent said,some of it was factually incorrect,the no posters,shirts etc and how he can go from loving it here and wanting to end his career here to feeling unloved in a few weeks doesnt make sense.Trying to force the clubs hand going into a cup match and trying to stay 2nd is very bad timing and a clumsy move.What is bobby to do,leave on the bench or just leave him out?

It's very easy for a player to come out and say stuff like he will stay at the club for the rest of his career etc, but if the business side of it doesn't go how Yaya wants it his mind can change.

It looks likely that Sorriano wants to put this new 140k top wage cap along with all wages having bonuses added on top.

If Yaya is currently on 220k, with all this talk of a player wanting a last big contact to end his career on do you think Yaya - being on the current wage he is on - want to drop 80k a week basic minus bonuses?

If it is all down to the money and contract then I would consider a sale, do we want a player just here for money?

We need more fighters like Zabaleta.

I do hope Yaya sorts everything out at City, but if he does not want the basic wage cut he can go in my opinion.

Yaya can be brilliant buts lets be honest he has probably had about 6 good games this season - I believe one of the reasons we got found out in the CL is Yaya when we don't have the ball he offers very little.

If we can get 30 mill then let him go there are younger hungrier players aropund - Barca didn't exactly miss him - he tackles a bit - hes good at linking the defence with attack and offers some creativity going forward - but is he worth being your highest paid player?
