Players are in it for the money, end of. Even when you hear one of them saying they want to commit to the club for the rest of their career, it's always with a pay rise - greedy fucking bastards the lot of them.

However, if you want to compete nowadays you have to pay them. The only thing with YaYa is that he's being honest, others hide behind bullshit reasons - 'I love the club and want to commit for the rest of my career (as long as I get an extra £30k a week on top of my £110k a week wages)'.

I agree with the OP, I dont like paying higher wages than any other club in the world for good (but not great) players. If it was Torres, Fabregas then fair enough these players come at a massive premium, but paying the likes of Bridge and Lescott 100k, K Toure 120k and his brother rumoured to be wanting more does not sit comfortably with me.

More of the A Johnson and V Kompany type transfers please, talented players with something to prove.

It's not a big statement he wants to go to Chelsea & his agent will obviously push him into a dealwith us if the moneys right but we will be getting a player who doesn't really want to come & Boateng said Mancini spent a long time trying to talk him into coming to City & he's decided to take the chance.
