Yaya Toure to Milan?

I think youre in a minority Nev on how you interpreted Pep's words.

"When he increases his intensity without the ball, he will be involved"

So essentially, when he re-models himself entirely and does something he has never done to date,he will be a player Pep can use - the fact being though.....he never will (IMO)

Yep if he couldn't do it 6 years ago he isn't going to do it now.

Ok,say Yaya does suddenly(and miraculously) transform himself into the productive, high energy player that Pep demands......then where does he fit into a side containing Gudogan,KDB,Silva,Fernandino and an abundance of fantastic wing talent?

Him and his agent will be a mare if he isnt getting regular football, and we can do without that.

His best hope would be to replicate Alonso at Bayern.

But it tells me something that Pep didn't even play him there in the 2 pre-season games. He played him essentially where Silva is playing now. There is no way Yaya could cover the ground in which Dihno does in that position. Anyway A. Garcia would be able to do the Alonso position if needed.

More of an ouch for folks who said he was done, I think. Nice bit of putdown for Seluk too.

“Yaya is trying very well, he loves football. I spoke with him about his situation, he’s a player with huge quality and I’m really glad that his agent said I’m a good coach, ‘thank you, Dimitri’.

“I have adulation and respect for Yaya’s quality – when he increases his intensity without the ball, he will be involved.

Pep is very clever but honest here too. He knows the real story with Seluk and he's also showing he isn't going to expect anything less from Yaya than he would anyone else in the squad - which is working harder than he has at City. I am skeptical that he will dig deep enough to do it but hope I'm wrong

He was doing it pre season. Presumably he will have to increase his stamia to keep it up.

Pep seems to be suggesting he's doing it so we'll just have to see.

It seems Yaya doesn't fit Pep system since he was at Barcelona.

Thank god Pep didn't rate him back then and gave us have the chance to sign Yaya.
