Yaya Toure

I thought he was class today, awesome disciplined performance. Always available, always in space. Made us tick at times I thought, linked the defence and attack well. Class assist for the third and his passing was simple and effective, did everything that was asked of him today. I actually prefer Yaya in this role to the one of last season personally now he has better attacking players ahead of him.

I don't know what game you were watching but I thought he played really well..

Couple of mistakes but all in all he was great.

Ditto.

He's not yet found the form of last season but that is to be expected now he's been switched to a slightly more holding role.

Give him another game or two to settle into this slightly more reserved role and you'll see the Toure of last term shine through.

If anyone is worth a little patience it's our man Yaya.

His pass to Aguero, to start the break away for the second goal, was sooooooooooo fuckin perfect its ridiculous, through the eye of a needle and delivered so that Kun didn't even break stride.
The only time he moseyed upfield, to really join in with the front four, he lays on a tap in for Edin to grab the match ball.
A bit leggy and beaten rather easily on a couple of occasions ? Yep - but no more fasting this season means he will be stronger from now on ............ his class and intelligence still shone today.

That's what I remember seeing too, maybe I was caught up in the euphoria but I thought Yaya was superb yesterday spraying passes around

He played well today, but I agree he wasn't one of our best performers. Just shows how good the rest were today.

agreed, wish people would stop nit picking, lets leave it for when there is something to say.
yaya did ok and didn't stand out because of others being fantastic
his movement and run for the 3rd was outstanding

I think he is totally class, does what he is told to do on the pitch, if he was that bad why didn't bobby take him off, because he was completing his task

Yaya is a great player and an absolute beast at times
But he was at fault for their goal, he was marking Kaboul but let him go without a challenge

However, we won 1-5 so who cares?

Nit picking after 5-1 at Spuds, but to me was our worst player..
Barry was fantastic next to him, but Yaya doesn't look quick enough in mind or body at the mo..
Got passed by many too many times by Spuds..
Eh? Can't believe someone has actually posted this. Watched the whole game and have no idea where you get this from.

We zonal mark! how many times does it need to be said that we don't challenge the man we challenge for the ball! Thus, it was Lescott's fault! Honestly!

Anyways, no offence to the OP but I just think what Yaya was doing was too clever and inconspicuous for some people. He's the most intelligent DM in the prem (maybe the world) and, despite Nasri and Silva, showed the greates astuteness and footballing brain today. Had any other DM in the prem played his position today, we'd have been far less impressive.

It really is a stupid statement to say he did badly. However, I do concede his defensive aspects aren't the best.
