Yaya Toure

Will always be one of the best footballers on the pitch whenever he plays. Thought he looked shattered though from 70 mins onwards and didn't think he looked in great shape. I was a lot lower down tonight so saw him fairly close up as opposed to my normal seat in the the third tier.
I'm not sure he has a future here after tonight's showing but if I'm proved wrong then it can only be beneficial.

I'm not sure why he wouldn't be shattered after 70 mins in his first full game, but he seemed to me to be getting around quite nicely & just is 'better' than everyone else.

Then i don't see what people are talking about.

Either he's below the level, or he isn't. Imo, he was above he level of the others, apart from perhaps Nolito.
I'll have to watch it back tbh as like I say I was sat in a different seat tonight and it wasn't the best for getting an overall picture like my normal one in 308.

To me, tonight proved nothing one way or the other. Yaya played in a scratch team & was the classiest footballer in it. Whether Debruyne or Silva would have looked ten times better in the same team, is a bit difficult to compare. But no way imo, was he worse than the other attacking players in that team, on the night, & some of them are expected to be playing a fair bit this season.

Honestly people think that team would have been better without Yaya in it ?
of course. Put De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Silva, Gundogan in there we'd have won with more to spare. He trotted around as he did last season and had little effect on the game.

Yes you could say so did Fernando but Fernando can defend when needed. Toure can't. If Toure can't open up a very very poor team, then what chance has he at Premiership level? None at all. I thought he had worked hard on his fitness and he probably has, and I thought maybe he can play a squad role for us this season, but on tonights showing which was a really big game for him, I think we may have seen the last of Toure in a City shirt. I can't see anyone buying him, but neither can I see Guardiola selecting him. he was the main man tonight, but he struggled. The only time the pace of our passing picked up was when Fernandinho came on at the end.

I didn't mean is he as good on his own, as all of them put together, I meant swap him for one of them.

I didn't notice a huge improvement when the subs came on personally, did you ?

So you think he's in contention for a starting place against West Ham?
