Yaya Toure

Then you fail to understand something very basic. Toure is physically finished as a top flight player and will never ever be able to do what he once did. Silva's issue are form and injury. He can play on for years, assuming he gets over his ankle injury. We have Silva, Aguero, Sterling, De Bruyne, Nasri. All exceptional players.

We have Sterling playing as a tucked in left winger. Aguero isolated up front so he has to come deep or wide, anywhere but the penalty area. De Bruyne was even benched for a while. De Bruyne got Wolfsburg into the Champions League because Wolfsburg chose to play their team around him. Sensible when a team like that gets a player like that. Leciester have done that to great effect this season with Mahrez and Vardy. We are now doing this with Toure. We are packing the midfield trying to give Toure a platform to play, but he isn't as good as he was and if affects the game of other players. It's not working. The suggestion that nothing else works is not reasonable. We haven't tried anything else, and Silva, Aguero, Nasri, De Bruyne are exceptional players. The supporting players are internationals. Some scoff at Kolarov, Sterling and Delph, but look at the goal Kolarov scored this week for Serbia. Sterling was the best young player in Europe. De Bruyne was the most creative player in German football. We are playing like we are a one-man team around Toure and disregarding the abilities of the other players.

On the contrary Marvin, it's you that's failing to understand something very basic and that is that Silva is not in his prime, his prime, like Yaya's passed a couple of years back.

If that was true he'd have more than 6 goals and 5 assists in a team that has been built around him - overly so.
Not too sure what you mean? I'm saying he might find the German league difficult like he's struggled here this season, whereas the Italian and more so the French leagues would be in his current level.

The difference is Silva is physically (ankle permitting) at his peak. He may not be playing as well as he did, but then the whole team are not

I am willing to bet that if you play the right system and players Silva could be just as good. Toure will never be as good as he was . There is a big difference between a player struggling for form due to injury or whatever temporary problem and a player who is over the hill.

And even if Silva is past his best, there are other very good City players. It is stupid to build your team around a player who cannot sprint which is at the heart of football. If you can't do that then it's almost impossible to make your mark on a game

He's not physically at his peak, ankle injury or not.

He's been epic for us on the pitch. Never liked the guy off the pitch though which makes it far easier for me to say Silva is still my number 1.

He'll be missed for his footballing ability when he's gone not for his personality, unlike most of the others (Zab/Kompany/Hart/Silva/Aguero etc.).

I once was privy to some very interests documents regarding Yaya and that woman he'd been seeing.
He's a rum ****, I'll give him that.

Seriously, we know you and (H)ate Too Much are obsessed with doing Yaya down but isn't most of this actually off topic? Shouldn't you take this back to the Yaya thread.

silva may not be playing well but he has fuck all movement in front of him.......full backs no longer get to the byline

Silva is my little girls favourite player but I think that's due to his name. Zaba is a warrior, Sergio made history, Kompany is capo, Yaya scared the rags. They all make the team, we're very lucky.
